    So we can't call the bat flu "Wuhan flu" but

    We can call the variants "Brazil" or "British"?
    Going against a fairly longstanding protocol of naming diseases/outbreaks after the location of patient zero or the outbreak origin such as "Lyme, Pennsylvania; Hantan, South Korea; the Spanish flu etc.
    The WHO or some other powers decided that calling the bat flu "Wuhan disease" was racist so we have to call it Covid-19 yet the variants are named after the regions/countries they appear in?
    Colour me confused.
