Marker Super duper light AT touring bindings gear fappage thread

Will spare you the Instagram fade to black shadowed porn. Will change the thread title when embargo is lifted. Two versions

    Those dark ads are annoying.

The words Marker, light, and plastic, make me as nervous as marker, full, and spectrum

These will definitely be a "wait 2 seasons to see if anyone loses a leg" binding.

"super duper light" in marker terms still probably means 500g/binding

245g/binding (w/o brakes), not including the spare binding you'll want to carry your pack.

How long until this is offered as system binding on the BMT skis so you have to buy it and can't mount anything else?

    Meh is right.

It looks like a plastic version of the Mtn Lab binding.

$600+ CAD barely 250g, another Dentist binding, just like the Salomon MTN.

Honestly, a system pin binding would be pretty neat, even if it added a tiny bit of weight. Especially if it meant getting the heel lower to the ski and cutting down ramp angle.

Are the not really hooks behind the toepiece for ski crampons, or brakes?

it looks not much different from all the lightweight dynafit derivatives that have been around for over a decade.

I'm a big fan of reduced stack height. It's perhaps the parameter I'm most sensitive to - even more than ramp angle. I wouldn't vote for a "system binding" if given a choice however, because I do too much fiddling around with ski and binding swaps as I re-purpose skis (for example) from lift riding to touring.

Of course, I would never think of re-purposing a BMT 109 for inbounds, but I can visualize pulling an available touring binding to mount on a ski I might want to split time between deep (inbounds) powder and touring.
