9.5 inches of rain @ 40F in 2.5 days.
Baker's not going to have anything but the Blueberry cattrack open.

thanks for the Fiorini scoop, glad to hear the lesson business is alive and well. Seems like they are a well respected option. We'll try them next season.

Okay, I repaired the early season damage, tuned the edges and applied a fresh coat of wax. Cleaning house now, then wrenching on my bike tonight.
Will this be enough to swing the jet stream in our favor?

How they are keeping Alpental open is beyond me. Maybe 10% of lessons actually attended today. We were completely soaked through the Gore Tex by 10:30. Kids kept up a good face and had basically private lessons. I've never seen Lot 4 that empty on a Saturday.

Not looking good, guess I should be grateful for some good days in late December and early January.

That's what I get for buying new BC and alpine boots in the same season. So sorry!

Feeling a bit burned by the midweek pass holiday blackout days at xtal now. Who knew that would be a third of the season?

Crystal was awwwright today. 8" new in the last 24 in GV made for a fun morning. Actually found the whiteroom a few times out towards Northway. PB opened to hikers in the afternoon but we were too beat by then to attempt it, Vis dropped and winds picked-up in the afternoon considerably, making GV and REX less appealing, so we opted for soft groomers & schmoo on FQ instead to finish off the day.

How is Mt Rainier looking ? Will the Muir have built up much to recover from the warm summer's loss ?

those pics are brutal. after 7+ seasons at meadows I still feel like I'm at the wrong place or just visiting when i've been at timberline. i still check meadows' weather first out of habit but also to see how the same weather events compare at the two locations. whenever I find myself thinking of mt. hood I realize I'm thinking of meadows, although the ride up magic mile and palmer is getting a little more play time these days.

A little historical perspective from Mt. Baker. I was having trouble finding snow depth records for 1976-77 drought year at Baker but they helped me out by posting this on their snow report this morning:
Note: the data for '76-'77 is recorded as depth vs. new snow for the other seasons.
