Loon was pretty good today, and it was open. Not too many people and 2 lifts and several trail choices. We will be back tomorrow.

As a weather freak with 3 girls in the same age bracket I am crushed. So avoidable. So utterly sad. May she Rest In Peace, and may others learn from her mistake.

Not Without Peril may be the most important book to read before heading into the Whites.

I was told by MNIAW that okemo delivered today. It definitely did not fall short. Amazing snow for early season night missions.

It's potentially not good for the northern Champlain valley, that's for sure. I wanted to XC accross the street at Hardack. I'm hoping Jay does alright with the usual reach around snow from coastal storms. Smuggs could get hosed.

31º and half sunny bob w/a moderate breeze. 5/16" of new snow overnight to refresh the slopes. Get Some!

These forecast are very suspect to begin with, and most of the others I follow are more bullish for cold/snow in NE.

Verbatim, this is saying below normal in NYS, normal in VT/NH and above in ME. The only way for this to happen in reality is if its a generally lower snow winter except for a coastal or two which misses NYS, grazes VT/NH and hits ME. That is hard to predict the week before the storm, much less months ahead of time.

In the meantime enjoy the typical roller coaster for the next 10 days, and thereafter a solid possibility of cold reloading.......

Wait, are you suggesting that in spite of all the pretty colors and resulting hand wringing these long term maps might mean ..... NOTHING?????

There was that one winter in mid '10's where the Boston area got pummeled all winter and extreme northwestern VT got skunked. Southern VT did well. It was that coastal thing.

Is the Champlain Valley REALLY VT?

Should we start a “What/Where are VT’s border?”

The best part about Burlington is how close it is to Vermont.

2014-2015 I think. That was the best year for Magic since 2010. Goniff and I canceled a trip to Snowbird because the snow was better in SoVT.
