Dammit. So much for 10 degrees colder. We’re right on the line which definitely means #snowicerain.

If you guys look closely enough, that Snow/Ice/Rain line may be just about where the Upstates start and the Downstates end.

This could be a useful tool in the other thread.

Change the blue box to say "tarp line" instead of "mostly snow" and post it there and see people go apeshit.

Also, the CBS46 ATL affiliate weather woman who’s been jammerin on since 6am is an incredible smokeshow.

Yeah. And those people that are solidly upstate are saying “what, was the ever a question we were getting 5 feet of snow?”

Well, we paid attention to the news, did what they said, and looks like we’re gonna make it.

It's always interesting what's left when the shelves are stripped bare. Looks like maybe bags of cranberries on the left. No idea what that is on the top shelf but there's plenty of it. And what is that lower down on the right? Maybe rhubarb?

Looks like some asparagus in there. Not sure. I was only there for apples and lemons, which they had plenty of.

I don’t think I’ve ever watched a CBS 46 newscast until yesterday morning cause it was on that channel from the football the night before.

I may reconsider that choice moving forward.

For those still wondering if they still named winter storms, the answer is yes, but their marketing budget appears to have been cut.

I just found out this storm was named Izzy.

Can’t wait for the next big storm name reveal. I hope it involves tannerite.

8 years ago today ATL was brought to its knees for over 4 days thanks to what would become known as the Snowpocalypse. I'd post this memory in the thread with my telling of the tale, but thanks to the advanced search engine feature I can't locate it.

Storming here today, pretty much a classsic Nor'easter. Why we can't just say Northeaster I don't know but them's the rules, apparently. We don't seem to have a name for this storm, actually they seem to have kind of given up on the whole named winter storm business, so I'm gonna call it Winter Storm Spartacus. Which should work pretty well from here on out.

Not much snow so far, maybe 5 inches. Windy, though, it's blowing about 30 with gusts up around 60 or so They kept saying it was gonna be cold so it would be lighter snow but it's 28 here right now and snow is spackling everything. I'd definitely rather have lighter stuff for the sake of the power and the trees but oh well.

Power blipped out about an hour ago, generator came on, power was back on in maybe a minute and has been steady since then. I'd prefer to keep that on but we'll see.

They're still saying 18-24, as fast as this storm is moving I don't see 24 and even 18 would leave me kinda surprised.

Came home from a dinner party last night and got a freak 1” of cold fluff in town last night. Woke up and it was still there. No one called for that at all.

    Weird.
