    It’s the fucking golden age to be a kid. I was 28 before I got a bike of similar quality. This kid is 11 and riding a turner 5spot.

    Now in proper spancership trim. The JUNIT wheels, DHFs and a XX1 cassette I practically stole from Phall dropped almost 3 lbs off the stock build. And, yes, that is a factory-monogrammed brake lever.     I sometimes complain about the quality of local trails, but when I can do a sub-10 minute shuttle from the house, climb 500, and descend 1300 back to the house (with a quick stop at DQ on the way) with my five-year-old, that's something I can't complain about.

    Anyone gone riding with kids in Crested Butte area (we're staying on the Taylor River)? We're going to be there this weekend.

    My kiddo is 8, she can ride trails in Boulder like Marshall Mesa and the new kid-friendly loops at Heil. But anything with technical stuff or lots of climbing won't go over well.

    The 15 year old in her first MTB race. This was in a rocky section she probably would have walked (or at least put a foot down) a couple of months ago, this time she charged it every lap.

    Lower loop? Nice spots to hang at the river, can get to it through town, relatively flat, not technical. It’s been a while since I’ve ridden it (cause why would you if you aren’t with kids?) but I think it’s your best bet.
