Saw 4 of these campers in one day, that has to be a record. Started with the first 2 at Hatch over by Bunion's house. Maybe those don't count because they are always there (and available for rent). Then saw one on a Tacoma downtown. And then a Tundra over by Bob Wards.

Free bump - just picked up one of these things a few weeks back. Super sick setup with a buddy heater. Hands down better than a RTT.

I agree. Just can't stomach the nearly year long wait list. Especially since I kind of want a different rig.

My wife was 100% opposed to it, but she didn't understand what a ridiculous deal it was, so I bought one anyway. She hates it and refuses to camp in it, and it causes a fight about every three months.

    So worth it.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

American Expedition Vehicles post on Facebook today. This baller rig lives right down the street from me and is owned by Dave, the guy in the picture, who started AEV.

When did RAM become the unofficial full size overland truck? Props to Fiat for that bit of marketing!

Marketing is a part of it, but the 3/4-1 ton RAMs also drive and ride more like a car than the full size rigs from GM or Ford.

Probably right at the time Dave and AEV decided to start making parts for RAM trucks.

I could give a shit about full size trucks or overlanding in general but I was at a party when Dave rolled up with the first fully AEV'd-out RAM and a bunch of doctors, dentists, and lawyers basically fell all over themselves begging to buy the first one.

Only trucks I consistently see on the side of the road with their hoods up. Most look new

Bump as I continue to be enthralled with this concept. V2 seems to have some great upgrades. I think the line for a camper is out to summer, but can't confirm.

I could see this as a great solo rig. Wife probably won't camp without a bath and shitter anyways.

I don’t get why a $5000 tent affixed to your roof is better than a $200 tent on the ground you can put anywhere, including your roof...but again, why there?

Jesus, dude, don't be so obtuse. You put the tent on the roof to protect yourself from the lions.
