Spectacular day at the Basin. Good freeze overnight and the snow is turning to corn slowly, which is nice. Better than going to slush in one hour. Good coverage up high....wonder if they’ll extend from June 6th?Click image for larger version.

Recon has confirmed no lake. First run was spicy to say the least, re frozen bumps was wake up call off the top but eventually warmed up for a big bowl of mashed taters.

    Dam, it was fun day.

What’s your gut feeling from what you saw? Will they close down June 6th or get another weekend in?

Herman required about a mile hike in on dry trail, then continuous snow starts on other side of the creek - or stay on trail another approx mile before enough snow to skin

I don't see A Basin pushing past the 6th, they could if committed but they will run out of rope trying to block off the bare ground.

I was looking for the disc baskets!

Skied the y on ypsilon this morning. Just about solid snow above 10k'. Excellent freeze last night made for just about perfect conditions, but the runnels and chunder are starting to get bad. Such a fun line! The snowpack in RMNP is looking really fat compared to elsewhere in the state.

Wow, big line for sure, congrats! Big cornice? Was the icefall section snowed over?

Yes to all of the above. Best turns of the season up top, but I didn't get much skiing in this year.

Well, there was enough snow to ski through the ice

Beautiful morning up on Independence. Good freeze made for great skiing. Holy hell was it crowded up there. Probably 50 or more people at the top of Mtn Boy. We took the kiddo and skied the other side and only saw 2 other people.

FYI, keplingers (longs) is still in, with plenty of snow connecting from the summit. Also, took a pic of dragons egg on the exit, and also in real good shape. Those storms from a few weeks ago really loaded up the park
(Sorry, bigger files so they load sideways I guess)

Dumping snow on the Divide. Thundering, pouring rain below 8,000, hail at times. Wild day out there.

Anyone have an idea of how deep the coverage is at Monarch?
Lost a ski there early season, then got injured late season.
Just about recovered enough that I think I could hike up for a retrieval attempt.
