Which is more than likely what happened. The OP has a vivid imagination and whatnot.

What did the cops think when they showed up? Did they approve?

There were lots of witnesses watching me tussle with this guy, I'm assuming there is viddy.

I carry mostly everywhere unless there will be alcohol consumption involved. Not so much for people, but for critters like unleashed dogs that want to give me the rabies. Now I will always have bear spray on bike rides, even made a little holster out of old water bottle to mount in the bottle cage.

The bicycle carry pistol is a .9mm Kel Tec P-11 in a little IWB leather holster. Don't even notice it. Although I never carry when mountain biking unless I put a little NAA .22 revolver in my front pocket.

I'm pretty thankful I didn't shoot him, although highway patrol I gave statement to was surprised I didn't. I was in road bike shoes and couldn't really get much purchase under me on the pavement, felt like a newborn giraffe learning to ice skate as he and I were dancing. So I was worried I'd be off my feet if he kept throwing punches. But I knew I could remove myself from the situation easily thus no threat plus he was highly intoxicated and I figured less-than-lethal was better route.

I just ordered a new holster from We the People. It should be perfect for holding the 45 while riding the mountain bike.

I hope I never run into someone that blind drunk and on the Prowel,,,

News article? Drunk runs people over, then exists wreaked car and attacks - Must have been arrested, made the paper?

Just a simple kneecapping would have shown restraint and eliminated the thought of murderous intent..

Would you guys stop trying to verify this actually happened and just be glad Parvo is posting on reg again. Not since Blurred spray painted the preacher's truck has there been a road rage story this good in here.

Yep, it was in the paper with his name and everything. I'm referred to as "the cyclist" in the article. It actually happened a while ago but just now am posting since I've settled my hash with the guy along with the county - and it's a pretty cool story I wanted to share with the collective. Was his third DUI in 10 years which is felony territory I think. I didn't press charges but the state said they have no discretion in the matter and were pressing charges on my behalf.

I've pondered the road shoes fight issue before. Happy to have switched to mtn pedals and shoes on road rides. Hill people and city dipshits alike could need to get wrecked lol.

Definitely not recommended footwear for scrapping with road-raging drunks or fleeing an attacker on pavement.

Pretty awesome that some quick thinker was there with a handy can of bear spray/instant karma. Really shows how problems are just opportunity.

I always thought that Look cleats to the lower extremities would do some damage.
But, I don't live in a place where you have to carry to bike. Doesn't the OP live in Jackson Hole?
We're you upwind? Isn't bear spray illegal to carry?

He was close, within 10 feet and closing. Spray comes out really fast, under lots of pressure. I didn't get any blow-back but did get some on my bike glove.

    I bear sprayed a dude

not sure why you’d think bear spray is illegal -bc we might actually run into bears while biking.
but i’ve never ever felt the need to carry a gun and I’d be the prime target given my boobs and all so I find gun carrying while out and about generally to be weak

good job on spraying the db though. that is highly amusing

Timber is right. From this day forth none shall question Parvo’s tales, and Buttah is a doubting Thomas.

Now, I’d like to hear more about Blurred spray painting a man’s car.
