Today was a good day! We diss cascade concrete all the time but I’m constantly amazed what 20 inches of PNWet snow can do to cover up rocks and stumps and whatnot ...it works like spackling paste I tell ya.

I forgot how fun it is to get lap after lap. Legs couldn't quite carry me bell to bell. No crowds at meadows today. Low tide fer sure, but plenty of nice pockets.

I'll be at T-line riding solo in the am (yeah yeah I know xc skiing, I'm a fusion pass holder, see previous ski bowl stoke). Blue jacket, black pants Flylow gear. Last year's Wrens. Happy to take a few runs, or a skin up and down.

I hear ya. There was talk of Molly opening, but I've got the itch. Forecast looks dry next week.

Did a quick warm up lap on the Cone before heading over to Pine Marten. And Pine Marten spinning this morning delivered the goods. Managed to get first tracks down skiers right and shin deep was nice and soft. Great way to kick off the lift served action today. A bit of rime started around 10AM, I think. Hit a few rocks but just lightly. Just some scrapes, but worth it. Not too crowded for only having the lower mountain running.

it was fun, but was pretty much beaten to a pulp as usual in a couple hours

still pretty bony in almost all places

some boot deep in lee spots, but not tons

    more fun than expected

Decided to schlep up to pea gravel ridge instead of braving the lines at meadows. It did not suck. 6-8” of serious fluff. Snowpack depth was about 115cm. Right side up snowpack fo sho. Only one creek crossing on the way in and out (over a large fallen tree). Pow skiing to start the season, FKNA.

View of Hood on the skin up. What happened to the predicted storm skiing?!?
