    Talking about women on the river makes me remember the last season I guided on the Middle Fork (almost 20 years ago). We did a May trip that had been chartered by some String Cheese Incident musicians, managers, and groupies. It was a wild trip. When we were at Loon Hot Springs, one of the super hot groupies got naked and cleansed us one by one with burning sage. These 2 geeky kayakers doing a 2-day jam joined us in the springs. The groupie cleansed them too, and after she had practically rubbed her tits all over him while doing her ritual, one of them leaned over to me and said "dude, how can I become a River guide too?" I didn't have the heart to tell him it wasn't always like that.

    We got nada this year but a pal got Deso late August. Duck that sounds hot.

    Heard normal requests for the MFS are 14,000 and Main Salmon is 11,000.

    This year it was 28k for the MFS and 22k requests for the Main. Fuuuuck.

    Damn! And many of last year's winners rolled over to this year so lots fewer slots available.

    @WMD,

    I was a USFS River Ranger on the MF about that same time. Which company did you push rubber for?

    That year I drove the sweep boat for Mountain Travel Sobek (although we didn't use a sweep boat on that early season trip). That's cool you were a River ranger on the MF. Must've been a good job.

    Almost as good as being a Sweep driver.

    A good buddy of mine was a sweep boat driver for Sobek 2016-2018. He's with Solitude now.

    Middle Fk Salmon permits and summer BBI

    ^^Nice! Sweep boat is definitely one of the best raft guiding jobs in the US.

    I guided for Sobek internationally for more than a decade before that, and that was pretty sweet too. I doubt I know anyone at Sobek anymore.

    My sister-in-law drew a MF permit for last year but deferred to this year. I'm getting a knee replaced at the end of March and hope like hell I'm healed enough to go.

    I did the MF in high water in 2005, pretty sure Bunion provided me lots of beta way back then (but on ttips, not here).

    What a magical place.

    5/29 Middle Main launch for us. Hopefully the road is clear and the river is under 7', otherwise I'm headed to the Owyhee.

    Hey, might see you out there. Just got an invite for 6/27. Keep your eyes open for either a baby blue or cow Maravia and a semi lucid guy rowing.
