WTB: Stem with a lot of rise

Last fall I had a bad wreck where I fractured my C6 vertebrae

My bike had always felt a little small (L Hightower, I’m 6’1”)

I’ve been out for a few rides this spring and my bike that always felt a little small now feels more so.

I’m hoping a stem with a bunch of rise will help get me a little more upright and less neck-tweaky. I’d like to not drop serial dough on new bars, as there will me some amount of testing the efficacy of this idea, plus my bars already have a fair amount of rise.

Does anyone have a shortish stem (60-70mm?) with a shit ton of rise (17-25 degree?)

    Lemme know.

    Edit to add: 31.8 bars

Funny man, I was thinking that I should just swing by your shop.

    I’ll do that. Probably tomorrow.

Interesting seeing this post. I have pinched nerve neck issues (too many tomahawks) and I left my new fork long on my Hightower. I'm 6' and it's also a large. Finally got it together last night and took it for a ride down the street. Initially thinking I would move the bars down, I think I'm going to keep them up. It just feels better on the neck for sure. I don't know about performance, but my neck care comes first, and obviously it will still be fun.

I have begrudgingly accepted that comfort takes precedence over handling. There are also some high-rise bars if you can't find a stem that works.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Thanks guys. We are old. Or at least I am. Feeling every bit of 43 ever since my unfortunate headfirst auger

I’ll swing by Joe’s shop tomorrow and see if he has any old man stems.

I like my bars. They already have some rise to them (1.5”?) and they are not fkn cheap. Hoping to find out of a more upright position feels better with a low(ish) cost stem.

If that doesn’t pan out let me know. I think I have what you’re looking for and you can have it for shipping.
