I wrecked that thing on Long Island and took out the power, phone and cable tv for 100,000 people. And walked away from it.
i think we had a 73 or 74 pontiac lemans safari wagon which was not too different from that one
no epic stories tho...just burning our asses on hot vinyl seats when coming home from the pool

316 gas AWD or 410 hybrid AWD? Yes please.
I need to see it in person. From the photos it looks oddly long, but the interior is beautiful and 300 hp is a winner.

Edit to say, this video sold me. Looks like a long car (good) with amble rear legroom (finally Volvo) a bitchin glass roof and beautiful styling. If I can buy for less than $50k with awd and 300+hp I am in. https://www.flickr.com/photos/719267...te/02de112b7b/

Nice video find. Looks even better than in the still photos.

Check out this looney monster. A V-8 Skyline wagon.

The slanted hatch on so many new wagons and SUVs like the V90 blows; removes a ton of utility.

That was one thing that drove me nuts about our X5s. Each re-design they seemed to rake that back windshield even more making it impossible to load normal sized suitcases for the fam unless you loaded them sideways. The Volvo cargo area is much longer to begin with so the rake doesn't affect space as much, but yeah, I hear what you're saying.

Showed my lady the pics of the V90 this morning. She LOVES our XC70, so it looks like the V90 will finally be a worthy replacement in the next couple of years. Target acquired. I just wish we could get it with a MT, but our XC70 has an auto so at least the sizable bump in horsepower will be nice either way. Hopefully the V90 won't be as boring as our XC70. Car's winter handling is absolutely superb though, so we've been willing to forgive its slowness. Top notch interior though, and it looks like the V90 kicks up a notch or three. Nice!!!

As a long time member of the Wagon Mafia I have more to contribute to this thread, but I couldn't resist taking a photo of this lovely Pinto.

You can tell it's going to be an awesome day when you can't find your wagon.

That is stretching "wagon" in every conceivable way.

    Ok, another "which car post"

Sister-in-law is going through a divorce and we're helping her find a car to buy. She wants a wagon (hates suv's), AWD, and won't do Subaru since their old outback left them stranded on the side of the highway outside the Eisenhower Tunnel when it exploded. She's got a budget too.

Narrowed it down to two cars she likes. A 2009 BMW 328xi wagon with 80k miles for around 14k or a 2011 Volvo XC70 T6 with around 50k miles for 24k.

I raved about my wife's T6 and am hoping she leans towards that one. She's not sure if the increase in cost is worth the big jump in price.

    Thoughts?

Shame she can't wait for the VW Alltrak.

Otherwise, if she can ditch the AWD the Acura TSX wagon is great.

Otherwise, you've covered all the bases.

I thought of the Acura really late in the search. Not bad just not many available and she's already got these two in mind.

Wait, thought you wanted Cougar cars?!

They usually come with their own box.

Is that what qualifies as a cougar car these days? Round here, (and now that I think about it where she is) the cougar car is a base model Boxster or Audi TT convertible.

Scientists now have decisive molecular evidence that humans and chimpanzees once had a common momma and that this lineage had previously split from monkeys.

Love the 9-5 wagons. Was my wife's favorite car in manual.

Those old Cougar and Buick wagons were massive beasts. The Olds was a pretty unique one:
