I don't think there is ANY connection. Just billyk insinuating that Jeri Ryan may not be the same since it's been 20 years or something. Which as I've pointed out, is completely insane. Like a fine wine, she's aged quite nicely. And if you watch recent interviews or videos of her hanging out with friends, she also seems to have an immensely lovely personality too. No joke. She's nerdy. She's funny. Gorgeous. Dang near the perfect package. I will sign up for CBS All Access just watch this show if she's a main character in it. Aside from her being insanely hot, I really did like her acting in Voyager. The character development and how she had to adapt to it was top notch.

When is the Picard show scheduled to air, Dookey?
As for her NG or Voyager character development, I really failed to notice.
Though I'm sure that's why they cast her in the series.

Not being a Brekkie, I had to Google that. Webz is saying "early 2020"

Also how good is this series really gonna be without Wesley?

I'm liking how this is shaping up! Sounds like the old cast and crew are really putting their hearts/souls into it and doing it right. I'm optimistic:

Flox and EMH were fine, or at least had their moments. Neelix was the worst Star Trek character ever.

I am guessing that HellgateBasement is in "The Industry" (or has friends in "The Industry") as the show doesn't premiere until January 23...
From a Newsweek story that ran on Newsweek.com yesterday: "On Monday, the cast and crew of Star Trek: Picard assembled in Hollywood for a premiere screening of the streaming series' first three episodes..."

I can confirm that Jeri Ryan was looking good on screen and in person.
It will be on CBS All Access.
