Yes.
Bill Stevenson, Doug LePage, Stu LePage, and Silas Patterson also came out that day.
Funny to find this thread on one of the very few times I've logged on in a while.
Hi Joe.
Thanks Brett.
BTW, just for accuracy, Twoplanker and Iceman helped make those T-shirts. First guy I met from powdermag.com; late Dec 2000 right before driving cross country.Good baked beans. I have my shirt still as well.Thrutchworthy Production Services

The demise of this whole place started when Wildbill became mildbill. It just hasn't been the same since.

Z-Bo also comes to mind - I remember meeting him at the '03 BC Summit and thinking, "this guy brings it!"
So many fun things. I would like to know more people's real names for FB purposes.
I miss Xover too! Fun times!"When restraint and courtesy are added to strength, the latter becomes irresistible."

I crack up laughing every time I see that snowlerblader sprawled out on the sidewalk.
One thread that sticks out in my memory, but I can't find involved the following:
-Class reunion, or other simliar type gathering
-Costumes
-Open bar
-Robbed at the ATM
-Police show up and save the day.
-"How many drinks have you had tonight?" I really dont know... it was open bar. like... 30?Originally Posted by JoeStrummer

The body language in SSD's picture is classic. You can't see any of the faces, but you can tell exactly want the group is thinking.
Speaking of Gonzo - does his buddy Honc still roam these parts?
My first exposure to the foolishness that is/was TGR/Powdermag - the guys from Utah on Boss Hogg. I think that phUnk came up short (a double back flip?) and everyone was amazed that he was still in one piece.Last edited by Stu Gotz; 03-04-2011 at 02:16 PM.
Charlie, here comes the deuce. And when you speak of me, speak well.

The one thing that hasn't happened here in awhile is the collective getting together and chipping in for something. A couple of things come to mind. I was the lucky recipient of one group collection when I was in Iraq you guys sent me a bunch of care packages for me and my Marines. I also remember someones house burning down with all their ski gear and Owens coming here asking for donations for a family that had their house burn down before xmas. A chair at silverton and I am sure I am missing some things. Getting bigger sure can change things!!

03-04-2011, 03:51 PM #172People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

The collective always came through. I remember the SLC girl hit on the slope and broke her leg. Teton Gravity donated a full set of ski flicks and the rest of the mags filled out a nice gift basket for her. As long as that kind of attitude prevails her, I will stay. We may not have done it for a awhile, but I have no doubt the response will be the same when such a situation arises.
I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...iscariot

If something really, really rad happens when I am drinking with friends, I almost always dance a gig while holding up the finger mustache. Nobody knows what it is but they know what it means.
Thanks Tap!
I have been lurking a long time (just since TGR). The longevity of this place is actually amazing. The newer gen (without kids) will need to lead on summits in order for the glue to stick. The lifestyle never really changes, new faces come and old go, but the ski lifestyle is immortal. Not unlike the SoCal surf towns, they will never change.
