I took my best bud of 15 years up to the mountains today to have some one on one time with him and do what he loves best. Play ball in cold mountain streams and hang with other people at the vineyards after a hike. We had a big vet visit yesterday and it’s all to clear to me that I better enjoy every moment with him while I can. I love this dog so much it hurts - he’s been with me through so much shit, I just hope I can be with him the same way as he heads down his eventual path. Hug your pups people.

15 years. That's something. And he's still getting after the tennis ball, hiking, and cooling off in the streams? Damn.

Beautiful dog Bmills. Thank you for the touching reminder to be present with my dogs, and for sharing that moment with us.

We stuck our dog in between some couch cushions and she just stayed there. It's the goofy, small, every day things that matter.

About a year in with this girl after waiting a year or so after putting down our old boy. Couldn’t be happier!

Been struggling with my 13yro Nash for a good year and a half now, both with partial laryngeal paralysis causing muscle tremors and with a parathyroid tumor that's caused hypercalcemia and kidney disease. The net has been loss of appetite and us hand feeding him whatever high quality foods we can get in him until he declines eating those too (fish, cheese, chicken, pork, beef, now hot dogs). His weight is down to almost 40lbs from being 50-55 in his prime, this probably goes in its just a dog thread but this week the time has come.

Some happy and sad posts in this thread. We are stoked to have a new dog in the household after a year of being without. The cycle begins again.

Did you know that there are dog relaxation videos on YouTube? Eight hours of other dogs walking. We did not watch the whole thing. Moira eventually fell asleep after about five minutes, so I guess it worked.

    So sorry Mofro.

Zoe had two lipomas removed Friday. She’s doing good, but is not impressed with the tshirt I put on her this morning to keep her from scratching the one incision she can reach. She’s 10 now and has slowed down a lot.

    10 days post snip.

Been getting Sam out for gentle two mile strolls and some cone free time.

    68.4 lbs at 29 weeks.

He's a really good boy. Except when he's not.

Just got a message from my dog’s breeder tonight. His niece just had a small litter of 3 males. 2 black and whites and 1 blonde.

I am so tempted, but I don’t want to cheapen or take away from my best buds last years. Very conflicted.

^ I'd jump on that. We are now 3.5m w/o and if we are lucky we'll get the replacement late sept.

For a second the other night i thought i heard the tail thumpin on the hardwood floor. Sudden hard rain. /difficult de ja vu.

I hear you. I don't know if I could handle the silence of a dogless house.

    Doggie stoke

    Best to you, Mofro!
    Nash is a good boy

We’ve got our name on a litter for this winter, but still kinda iffy on whether to follow through…plenty of time to figure it out. Stella will be 6 in Sept. I do think she misses Echo like we do.
