Just thought that it was a common internet courtesy to not post people’s license plates. Of course common courtesy and internet are two words that just don’t work together in the same sentence. I guess we could just start posting pics of people’s children too. Why not?
It really isn’t that tough to black it out.

I'll see your Disco and raise you this Cruiser:
Matching trailer w/matching wheels
Jerry can
RTT
What is this trailer anyway, slide-out kitchen?
Maybe that's what the large propane tank is for
Otherwise he also has a grill tucked away somewhere
Matching Hi Lift
Brown bag on spare
Awning
Gas can
Fake yeti
shovel
Other stuff I can't make out on the roof rack (aluminum) & whatever's in black bag
F & R bumpers
sliders
"MOAB" badge
eta and he did the hood black-out.
Not his first trip to Moab obvs but he went to school in TX and also skied Mammoth at least once.Last edited by Jax; 05-09-2021 at 09:25 AM.

^ The paint and wheel match has got to be worth beaucoup extra points. Man, if that thing was in the Whole Foods parking lot...

I'll dox my mud colored g.o.t.o.s. contender since the wheel match garners bonus points.

Mom’s dead. There is no point in blacking out a license plate. I hate the term “virtue signaling” but this is one instance where it is apt. There is no longer any privacy.
You’re a fucking moron.

Yeah, should have some expanded metal mesh to protect the intercooler and piping at least.

Is there a way to easily look up plates? I’ve tried in the past and had no luck. Doesn’t seem like that big of deal to me.

This has always cracked me up. Some skeez may see 80,000 cars in a day but decides he's going to track someone down because he saw the plate on the 'net.
More hilarious, I see people doing the license plate finger on facebook marketplace. Uh, your fucking name is on the listing.

As an individual citizen, I don't think so (although that may vary by state).
LEOs obviously have access to the data, and I was under the impression that certain private industries (PIs in particular) could generally dig up the info. I seem to recall my driving record from one of the data warehouses (as used by progressive) including plate info on multiple vehicles I had owned.
IMO, unless you're involved in not-exactly-legal activity and are protecting a co-conspirator or involved in warranty-voiding sports or recreation, I can't see much reason to block out an identifying plate that otherwise is viewable whenever the vehicle is in public.
I would hope that anyone with legitimate safety concerns about being identified from such a photo (witness protection, government types who may be getting attention from foreign adversaries, etc) would be assuming that their photo could be taken at any point and taking other action to make that a non issue.

It’s not virtue signaling, it is saying that you guys are a bunch of dorks. The license plate is a side issue. But go ahead and keep posting pics and ripping on other people’s vehicles that are actually cooler and more capable than your Kia. It looks good on ya. I’m sure none of them have chucked at you strapping skis to your roof and driving around Denver when it is 70 degrees out.

Maybe he’s got a spare strapped to the roof?

Doesn't look like anything slides out on it. If this guy is having family fun with his seats all taken with kids and a dog in the way back, where is his gear going then? In the trailer. Which is a shit load cheaper to buy and set up with a tent than buying a Sprinter or something.
I'm debating buying a trailer that has a slide out kitchen with storage and a bike rack on top, it's much cheaper than buying a bigger van. Right now all food, kitchen stuff, and more are on our foldable bed when we drive. When we sleep, where does all that shit go when it rains or when in bear country? It doesn't fit in the van when we sleep. It would be nice if all that shit is in a trailer instead.
