The Sip Lord I Am Your Frother Nitro Coffee Milk Stout
    Slice Beer Co, Lincoln, CA
    ABV: 7%

Went out of my comfort zone here with this one. I am a hoppy kinda guy, predominantly drink IPAs and Pilsners, but I do enjoy a Guinness now and then and have fond memories of slugging back Watney's Cream Stouts at the Rennaissaince Faire back in the day.
For the most part, however, I am not a fan of sweet or malty tasting beers. While definitely creamy and possessing a nice coffee backbone, this was more like milk chocolate and I am a 75% cacao chocolate kinda guy,
Still, I am glad I gave it a whirl.

A long time ago, in another life, one of my favorite things to do was to go to the Mojo Bike Shop and Cafe on Divisadero in SF, quaff down a few ice cold pints of "Death and Taxes," and eavesdrop on the bike messengers telling tales of their day on the mean streets. At the time you could only get this tasty black beer on tap at a few select bars and restaurants or at the brewery itself (Moonlight Brewing finally succumbed and now cans and ships).

Breakside's Noble Pilsner is worth tracking down if you're a fan of the style. One of the better, cleaner Pilsners I've had recently. As has been said many times, before, Breakside is a solid brewery.

Is that the one with the Winnebago on the label?

It's remarkably refreshing. So thirst quenching that it puts even ice-cold macro brew to shame.

It's also $11.99 for a 4-pack of 16 ounce cans here, which is reasonable for a beer that good. Damn, might have to run to the liquor store later today.

Yeah, that Winnebago Pils is damn solid. It's been about a year since I had one last, but from memory, the Noble Pils is a bit less bready and a little drier than the Winnebago version.

No Plans No Problems (Off Road) Pale Ale
    Moonraker Brewing Company, Auburn, CA
    ABV: 6.0%
    Hops: Simcoe & Amarillo

Part of Moonraker's ongoing series (the previous incarnations were "Fishing" and "Kayaking").
This may be the "thinnest" of the bunch, a pale pale ale, if you will. But it's still tasty.

*Not sure what it's like in your neck of the woods, but during the Pandemic Tahoe got run over with entitled and wealthy Zoomholes migrating from San Francisco, Marin, and Silicon Valley, buying up all the available property, and drastically changing the landscape of the area.

One local brewery spoke up about the shift...

    Jaded Local Lager
Alibi Ale Works, Incline Village, NV
    ABV: 4.2%

From the minds of the Mount Shredly Mogul Team comes this crisp and snarky lager.

"Do You Even Live Here?" is the question being asked on the front label.

    The back label gets deep:

"Conceived as a refreshing clock-out beverage for anyone who starts avalanches, climbs lift towers, or rescues beaters for a living, this crisp lager is perfect for drinking after low-viz/high-hazard missions, tweaking your ACL, or moving into the back of your truck when the landlord converts your house into a vacation rental.

Easy drinking enough even for telemarkers or people who ski inbounds with touring gear and a backpack, Jaded Local will quench your thirst and fade memories of endless lift lines full of gapers with dirt cheap passes.

Made from water that used to be snow
    12-24 DIN
    Race Stock
    4.2% Alohol
    Jacuzzi Compatible"

I quaffed a can at 8930 feet today after a ski and in preparation for a Zoomhole and Toolorist infested holiday weekend at the Lake.

I wonder if moonlight is still the same guy. I remember he was brewing out of his home garage and distributing his kegs around the Bay Area by himself. Maybe 17 years ago, friends and I did a vertical tasting of 4 or 5 pilsners on tap at lanesplitter pizza in Oakland. By far, Moonlight’s was the best that day. Most complex and tasty of the group.

Pretty sure it is the same guy.
I emailed them when I moved up to Tahoe permanently in 2012 looking for their beers around here and was told I was SOL in terms of scoring their beers outside of SF and Marin, unless I wanted to drive 4 hours and plunk down on a keg from the brewery!
Recently learned they didn't even start canning until 2018...

And, yeah, their pilsner/lager game is STRONG; their IPAs are decent, but they really have the pilsner/lagers dialed.
