Beautiful day out there. Could see the crowns on Chair from a long ways away!

Oh man, I skied exterminator for the first and second times ever yesterday (working in Tacoma temporarily) and it was fucking sick. Got first tracks down Niagaras and some of the other gates there. Got out with a friend of a friend who showed me around and we straight charged from opener to 4pm with one bathroom break. Incredible terrain there. So psyched.
Photos aren’t uploading right now, but just so psyched.

Heading up tomorrow, how was the snow down low on Niagaras/Employee Housing?

it was fine in the morning but by 12:00 everything not north facing was pretty cooked and pretty skied out.
potentially my deepest turns off the north face of the king in a while. despite multiple large sluffs and the massive slide under appliances it was holding snow better than most of the season. Two great king laps to end a **** day.

Crazy video posted by WSDOT on their avy control today. Look at those trees getting taken out.

I'm not sure if this was already posted/discussed, but I came across this vid of a boarder caught in the Snoq. BC. Lots of lessons to be learned from not just reading but heeding the avy report, the potential dangers of easy access via sled and not fully testing the snow, to not riding with your tools and gear. The guys seem to indicate they learned some of those lessons, so let's hope it doesn't happen again.

It seems like the mountain report at Crystal often mentions Southback as being open/the place to be, I wonder if that's why we're seeing such a gong show on the traverse?

Promised my 5 year old I'd take her skiing today. Dumping at Crystal all morning with pretty stiff northernly wind blowing hard. Didn't ski any of the higher mountain, but Six was closed as we left and I think they were shutting Northway gates too. Tomorrow should be another great one.

Six (6) started spinning sometime after 11am. Not sure exactly what time, other than I had just come out of the Campbell lodge and saw someone on it, and jetted over. Got 4 stellar runs with pretty much ski on service. Viz wasn't so hot, but the snow wasn't too shabby.
Friday should have some decent conditions if it fills in today's skier activities.

Crystal did not suck today. Limited viz, snowing almost all day and strong winds. No crowds!
Snow got better at the end of day from wind deposits and new snow, good enough that I had 3 "last laps" and lower mountain snow quality was very good. Next couple of days should be great. You Will Respect My Authoritah!
