Looks good Ad. Planter boxes were on the menu for the moms this weekend too. Raised one for my mom and ground for MIL.

Ms Boissal finally christened the chicken coop:
I'll get some interior pics at some point. It's a 2 level thing to maintain a reasonably small footprint but still have enough room for 8 birds. All windows can be opened and the whole front panel swings up for easy cleaning. Feeder and waterer are made of PVC I had sitting around. Fun COVID project.
Bosco dog is obsessed and has appointed himself guardian of the chickens, it's hilarious to watch him chase the cats away when they approach the coop!

He's been much more interested in the compost pile since the chicks have arrived. It's like a giant buffet to him. His other people (we have joint doggie custody with the ex) have ducks so he's got quite the refined palate for avian poop. Not to mention kitty treats...

To be fair Ms Boissal and her ex got Bosco as a puppy and he was 9 when they got divorced so it would have been hard for either of them to take him permanently. They get along well and did the smart thing sharing the dog. There's never been any issue with the arrangement and Bosco is living his absolute best life since the divorce, he goes back and forth between the 2 houses depending on who has time off and can take him on whatever adventure. I'm actually jealous of his lifestyle.

Not quite built yet, but destroyed with my own 2 hands and a little help from my youngest.

I'll give you something to feel worthy about.
My daughters are in an American Girl Doll phase. Somehow, between saving allowances, and generous grandparents, we've ended up with 4 of them (they're ridiculously expensive). The girls have been asking me to build a bunk bed for the dolls for a while so a couple weeks ago while goofing around on a saturday, I threw this thing together with some scrap 1x10's that we had laying around. The "joinery" connecting the legs to the beds is simple half lap joints. I built a little frame to wrap each bed, beveled the corners, and cut a rabbet down the length for the "bed" to sit in. The girls keep asking if we can paint it. I keep telling them that I don't paint and they need to talk to their mother. Their mother rolls her eyes and says, "I don't paint, talk to your dad". We'll see how long this goes on before one of us caves.

Have this bookshelf and my wife just kept piling more shit into it so I turned it into a reading nook for the girls today.

Lots of great projects here lately. Here's part of what's occupied my last year plus. First cable railing attempt. Also did all the trim work including wrapping the beam and column. Window trim was fun, boxed in the blinds. Also did the handrail. When the inspector came she congratulated the builder on the handrail. Apparently he failed one on the day before. I pointed out that it was my work, not his.
