Just following in your footsteps Have to say these are the funnest skis I've ever owned.



Another bummer night listening to rain all night at lake level, at least we have fairly healthy coverage but looks like more corn hunting in the near future

The Sunday morning snow shitshow is in Full effect, glad I bailed pretty quickly on trying to get up to Sierra today ( none of these cars moved in the 10 minutes I watched the live feed)

Not sure if it's accurate in real life but on the radar the snow levels are shooting back up to the 8k range from north to south

Caught third or fourth chair on Summit at AM this morning. Snow was a little heavy but still pretty fun despite the flat light. But it got worse after the first hour or so and I had to go inside and dry off. I don’t think it’s getting any better.

Been out of town for a little while, but headed back soon! Fingers are crossed that BA is wrong in the forecast, and some snow might pummel Tahoe in time for my return.

In the meantime, I'm hoping to get a decent touring setup dialed by the time I'm back. Looking to pick up a burly tech binding, to mount on some sticks I have. Wondering if anyone might have some offerings, or know of a decent binding for sale? Currently I use the Beast 14 on a setup, and have been pretty satisfied. Wouldn't mind picking up another set of those -but open to anything else. Used/not super expensive preferred.

PS. Rain crust sucks, and slush sucks. But probably not as much as these conditions?!?!

Okay. Liking for another recommendation .

Friend is looking for a private instructor for an 8 year old girl and her friend at Kirkwood (yeah I should know but my two favorite instructors are no longer there) Both solid skiers. She has great form and developing off piste skills. I took her down steep bumps (Olympic) and she did great. Looking for someone to tour them around he hill but provide solid instruction and feedback.

Totally accurate. First hour at Alpine was heavy but fun, then suddenly it got really wet and unfun. Noted that Squaw closed east fact of KT and Oly Lady due to avi risk.

When you need cold weather mountain boots, they're the lightest and easiest fun ski item to bring on a long trek! (and you can hide them in a bag so that rangers don't hassle you for not having a "ski permit").

I snagged first chair on Summit when I realized the first group was just 5 people. Skied two decent laps there and then started a Treeline --> Scott circuit. Cliffs on Arts Knob directly under the chair stayed untracked for 2 hours and Scott was untracked until I quit at noon to dry off. The snow got significantly heavier during the morning but was fun so long as it was untracked, and the low crowds made that possible.

Snow at Rose was decent if you looked around for wind dep...
Seems like it must've rained about 8400 as there was some really crusty nastiness here and there.

Maybe because of the 1h1/2 approach, but i ski the stuff west of relay peak often and most of the time there's nobody there, which is baffling because the terrain is really good.

Good rec, thanks. Picking up skiing, need boots. Spent a couple hours with Mike on Saturday between this and a rec from a Dodge patroller friend. Got a spankin' new pair of Mach 1 120s. They seem great, looking forward to trying them out on Friday.

That Helm is in San Mateo FWIW. Thank christ I didn't have to go to SF.

Fun day with a good group in the backcountry. PWL from Jan. 4th rain crust is gaining strength in places.

Kweeziana will always will remind you that all skis are rock skis. Mountain skiing great, even at 4:07 pm.



Despite the lackluster total precip in the past 30 days (esp down south), it has been amazing to have a base that allows great lower tide skiing! Timing really is everything.



Let's hope things get a bit more active moving forward. Corn bomb looking likely to go off later this week?
