First of all, you can certainly true that and make it rideable.
Secondly, you can de-tension all the spokes, bend the rim back into shape, and then re-tension it and true it, it will be almost as good as new.
Thirdly, good luck getting the driver that hit you to pay for a new wheel.

If you put sealant in a tire, and your symptom is that nothing but air is coming out, you haven't quite figured out the "system" yet!!!!
I used to think MTBR was the worst, but now I'm in the Front Range Mountain Biking Facebook Group. Holy Fuck! It's like excitable middle aged nerds who don't know about MTBR yet!!!!However many are in a shit ton.
