^ Oh but they are totally green and doing everything they can to make sure an overbuilt village, a ridiculous gondola and a mountain rollercoaster are environmentally sensitive. What would John Muir do? I heard he liked to fly his private jet right into Yosemite Valley... SMH.

Correct. Q PM me if you want beta about parking in valley. It is not allowed but easy enough in a low key camp set up (station wagon, pick up w shell).
Not a lot of options for rent. And. Itching is cheap. Basically the coat of ownership at KW is high, and renters are looking to recoup that as much as possible. And the market is there as well.

Sure, to be honest, not looking for place to park or where to car camp. I only live about 1.5 hours away and have driven out and back from KW plenty of times. Pretty easy to do on non pow days. We just thought it would be fun to spend a couple of days in a row and have a nice place to sleep with spur of the moment decision. So looking for rental connection and best options. Thanks..........

The ones with Hayden Kennedy are hilarious. Some of the quotes go "yeah they (skimo and alpinism) both have some of the same skills, suffering skills, walking skills, freezing your nuts off skills"
"-So HK how's your naked free solo going?
-It's powerful"
LOLOLOLOL
On another note:
Also if it does actually snow on Wednesday does that count as the first snowfall?

MAKE TAHOE DEEP AGAIN ~ 2016/17 OFISHUL SNOW/FOOD/WHINE & STOKE THREAD
Haha, that's funny if so. I was up in Truckee that day/night during the thunderstorms and thinking how strange because on that side of the lake it wasn't all that cold. Maybe 45 degrees when I stepped outside Thursday am tho so not inconceivable.
Btw - love the new Alibi in Truckee. Is that whole building new? Can't remember what was there before.I ski 135 degree chutes switch to the road.

Me'n Vets skied the backside of "The Nipple" yesterday (Sunday 9.17.17) and it was windejo as a mofo, with the snow, while firm at the outset, being edgeable, and eventually kinda soft around high noon.
Went back to "The Nipple" this afternoon (9.18.17) and was greeted by high winds, brisk (i.e. cold) air, and a thick mantle of ominous grey clouds. I attempted to sit out the impending storm, but after 45-minutes I said "f%&k it" and geared up. I only made 2 runs on the closest patches as the clouds kept accumulating, the wind kept howling, and the snow was semi-boilerplate and "interesting", so say the least.
Weather is definitely unsettled this week...waiting to see what happens Wed/Thurs.

Car was pretty well plastered this AM up in Serene Lakes.
Snowing lightly in Incline right now, though not even close to sticking at 6500, looks like it's about 40 degrees."The mind, once expanded to the dimensions of larger ideas, never returns to its original size."

I saw some fat squirrels the other day when out on a ride. I like that indicator as much or more than any other this time of year. Same case last year and it worked! Although I'd certainly be down for another La Nina ala 2010/11 if you want to go with weather patterns.

Yay!
Now the low clouds & drizzle (& hail) have cleared a bit, can see a dusting from our front door in CC.
Have not brought tix yet, but we are prolly going to ski flick at Moment plant in Sparks tomorrow.
Anyone else likely to put in an appearance?
