Definitely and Done, but not sure what this will do? Ease regulations... provide public money... free range Rangley?

Believe it is designed to encourage "the buyer" that the enthusiasm is there for the resort, but the goal is a bit vague.

Well, I'm down with SB opening and operating again. Seems like a great deal considering what's been invested already (new lodge) and what great terrain they have. Why would Otten want to spend so much at Balsams, when you've already got this?!

Wow. John Muir just spun in his grave. I think he would be a tad horrified that this quote was used to promote a mechanized ski hill.

One of the better hills in the state and the east. Had no idea it had closed down.
I know a 16 year old here in southern Maine that would be stoked if his parents bought the place. He wants to get into resort management. Could be a win win.

Four eastern mountains listed for sale right now (that I know of). Saddleback, Burke, Jay Peak, and Waterville Valley. Are there enough potential buyers out there that are interested or do one or more of these resorts go the way of Ascutney?
Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

Good luck! It looks like a very cool ski mountain with a ton of potential.

Sugarloaf is owned by CNL but operated by Boyne. CNL has all their ski properties for sale (quite a few in both the east & west). All the long term operating contracts associated with CNL properties would still be valid with the sale of the property. So yes Sugarloaf is for sale but it's operator would not change in the event the property is sold. The only ski area property CNL has managed to sell so far is Bretton Woods, NH. The company that operated the resort bought it {National Resort Management Group).
Here's the list of CNL ski properties for sale:
Sunday River in Maine (operated by Boyne Resorts)
Sugarloaf in Maine (operated by Boyne Resorts)
Loon Mountain in New Hampshire (operated by Boyne Resorts)
Mount Sunapee in New Hampshire (operated by Triple Peaks)
Jiminy Peak in Massachusetts (operated by Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort)
Okemo Mountain in Vermont (operated by Triple Peaks)
Crested Butte in Colorado (operated by Triple Peaks)
Brighton in Utah (operated by Boyne Resorts)
Northstar-at-Tahoe in California (operated by Vail Resorts)
Sierra-at-Tahoe in California (operated by Booth Creek Resorts)
Mountain High in California (operated by Mountain High Associates)
Cypress Mountain in BC, Canada (operated by Boyne Resorts)
Stevens Pass in Washington (operated by Stevens Pass Mountain Resort)
Summit-at-Snoqualmie in Washington (operated by Boyne Resorts)Last edited by steamboat1; 08-05-2016 at 10:34 AM.
