Hey Trackhead, just an FYI if you do the downhills with the chariot on, I was doing one with my 1 year old daughter and I turned to look at her, and she had her hands in front of her face trying to block all the spray. She still skis with me at 12, so...

I don't know how to pull the video down, but it's on the Kirkwood homepage, Daily Video, December 30th, 2011. She appears a few times. Longest segments at 2:36 and 3:04.

Cheers and Happy almost New Year!

Utah still suffers from a poor showing of snow. However, I have had a blast so far this season. Anna, who just turned 5 in December, and I have now been out 8 times. The last two days out (most likely due to watching Otter's boy jump) Anna has decided to start getting real with her air time. It is awesome to watch her line up a jump and go for it. She has gotten some decent air and has managed to ski away more times than not.

For those who ski Alta after 3... just before the top of Sunnyside there is an entrance into the tree and cliff area below the lift. It is marked black diamond with one of the "entering some of Alta's most challenging terrain" signs at the gate. Anna has been eyeing this for a while, so we finally let her go in there... keeping her to skiers right and away from the actual drops etc. She did very well in the steeps. She had a few falls; but, all in all, it was awesome to let her get in there and see her do well. My wife made the sad comment that she is now getting out skied by her five year old.

Anna skiing. You can tell by the toungue out that she's having fun. I'll need to tell her to put that thing in so she doesn't crash and bite it.

Anna jumping. Hard to catch the actual air with a slow camera phone.

10 second vid of Anna teeing up a jump. Not a big air and ends with a crash. But, the fun part is watching her ski up, stop, line up and go for it.

PNWbrit took my two youngers (11 and 13) to the top of the King at xtal for some BC pow turns the other day. Scotty took the younger one up the week before.

Thing #1 (17) ripping in a comp at xtal last spring. I think that counts for 2011, doesn't it?

I'm terribly proud of these knuckleheads. More to come. For those of you with the tiny ones in this thread, this is what you have to look forward to. They'll be kicking your ass before you know it.

Two quick pics from this week.

After several days of asking to ski under the lift in the gated area, I finally allowed her to enter and step up her game:

Anna at the bottom of the steeps she just killed:

Anna was pretty pumped to get home and tell everyone that she skis black diamonds.

Our 3 year old made his first unassisted turns today!!! Possibly the proudest day of my life to date

A quick little clip I made for the grandparents. Not sure who was more stoked him or us.

He then tells me tonight that he "wants to ski backwards tomorrow". This kid rocks!

My 3yo, now in his second season. He was so proud of himself that he could ski the box all on his own.

My 6 year old rippin the gates, her 4th season skiing. Smoked her 8 year old sister in both runs, the first by a full ten seconds. She was the youngest in the field of 75 Nancy Green racers aged 7 to 10 ( I registered her as a 7 year old so she could joint the club) , she came in 25th place over all. Sign of things to come...
