Climate change. Betting that most bodies of water around WI resorts used to be frozen over his time of year. I know we played a lot of pond hockey in MN this time of year in the 70s.

I think asking a ski area to make sure their guests don't drown is a reasonable request.

I met my wife at Alpine Valley. Dangerous place for sure. Before Alpine Valley I was living like a king with no obligations and nobody to answer to. Now my life is a total junkshow. Lolz. I should call the news and have them issue a warning.

My advice. Don't ski into the river. They already have fences everywhere at Chestnut. Ridiculous.

So is whichever employee told the potential plaintiff that it happens all the time and that there had been 20 or 25 people in that river already this year.

My first time ever on skis was at Alpine. I don't even remember the creek at the bottom. I was pretty full of myself for learning a hockey stop right off though, so maybe that's why. Nice place to see a concert too.

Me too. My parents "won" tickets from WLS in Chicago and we went on radio promo day...total junk show. I was 7 or 8.

Didn't fall in a creek at either...or Chestnut for that matter.

For the record, the concert venue is run on a shoestring. Never enough restrooms and 20 dollar beers with lines everywhere. Really I doubt I ever go back. Good times and wife met but otherwise fuck that place.

Sounds like they should require beacons. And snorkels.

Barely remember it. Well, I ain't flying from Seattle to go there.
I think we saw the Moody Blues, maybe Marshal Tucker, and I got pulled over on the way there because the cop said he saw a knife in the car. I'm like: "OK". My buddy in the back seat says: "You mean this?" and holds up a cheese knife as we were starting the tailgate/picnic early. Glad we weren't drinking.

I also learned to ski there in the 80’s and do not remember the creek. That video footage actually does look a little dangerous - one thing I do remember about the place was the high concentration of horrible skiers. A second fence couldn’t hurt...
