My ford van was done by the same company here in SLC for $18k with rear lockers a couple years ago (The guy I bought it from had it converted, not me) so I'd imagine that dually was north of $20k for the conversion, and he is only asking $35k. if the conversion was done recently, everything under the frame should be in new condition as they have to replace/upgrade almost everything.

This company in Kamloops BC does conversions and it looks like around $15,000 Canadian

Took 2.5hr from posting online to cash in hand (no inspection or nutting) for asking for my old van today.

Just did the math. Owned it for 6 years. Put 60k on it -- all ski commuting/camping miles. Cost me $750 per year (maintenance + loss between buying/selling). At about 40 nights per year of camping, that's $20 per night. Not bad.

Somehow that looks like the side should be the front.

Probably left cash on the table. But I felt it was a solid extra thousand (i.e. 20%) over worth. And fleecing people just because the market is nuts feels like bad ski karma.

Threw the buyer a few comp tickets just cause ... well he just overpaid in cash for a 20 year old Chevy.

That is the front. You are looking at it sideways.

Tempting... It's a testament to how crazy prices are these days. I paid $5200 for my '82 diesel Winnie Brave 15 years ago. It's remarkably similar to that one. Both are front engine, not pushers.

Sort of want to sell my Astro while prices are high then buy another with fewer miles. I just rolled mine over to 200k.

How long you willing to go without one for prices to come down? Might be a while. AWD Astros still very popular for those who are dipping toe into owning a van.

No idea what the market is in Seattle but I imagine like Denver. Mine was gone quick for $4k cash with 168k on it, small lift, bit of body rust, leaky power steering, clapped out suspension. Maybe the extras (set of new moog idler arms, roof basket, cross bars, crappy ski racks, swivel seats) were worth a couple hundro.

I saw one with like 105k miles listed for $11k.
Basic camper build, lift, a few niceties but nothing fancy.
If I were to list mine (same description above fits), 2000 with 200k, Iíd probably put it up for $9,500 and see what happens.

Getting closer on my build. Trying to figure out where the Chinese diesel heater will go. Iím thinking back drivers corner, mount a diesel Rotobax on the frame with coiled slack in the line so itís easy to refuel.

RC: Finally have a few bucks.....campers and real estate go 5-10x value in a couple years time.

I installed a rack on my topper using these super nice tracks from Decked.

    https://decked.com/collections/accessories/products/at3

I also bought one of these and mounted it off the passenger size. Really a very simple thing that makes the dirtbag topper setup just a little more user friendly. I really like the build quality and it takes 45 seconds to set it up.
