Need 9 1/2 inches steerer tube, so probably uncut. Something like a Fox van, Z-1 or AM, not 20mm, disc compatible.

treadin: Yeah, actually it would. I didn't account for the spacers I would likely be removing. What do you have?
rideit, that's a killer deal, but I've already got 2 Super Ts and I need this for a steel SS hardtail.Montani Semper Liberi

no, what he really says is that if you are learning how to ride a MTB, and you want to become a skilled rider, you shouldn't use 5"/5" FS bikes to learn your skills.
ride what you like, how you like. the fact that I offered a contrary view for the sake of a full hearing of all thoughts on bike utility means nothing more than the fact that the discussion was becoming lopsided and I wanted to balance it out a bit.
but please feel free to mis-interpret me further, I'm sure it is entertaining!

In other news, I have a 2006 Vanilla 130 RLC that I would consider selling. Short-ish steerer tube, though. Would need to know what length steerer you need.

oh you mean that 6-Pack?
I will have decided what's happening with that bike by December. It may be the source of my ski season $$$. But I still have 2 very nice Curtlo framed hardtails to sell before I consider getting rid of the 6-Pack. I have been hanging on to all 3 bikes because I haven't been able to decide whether I want to ignore 26" wheels completely. Whenever I ride the 6-Pack I answer that question with a NO because it's a ripper and too fun to ride. I just don't get --or make, or take-- enough chances to ride where 6"/6" is really useful, necessary or fun. Maybe I'm getting too old to see the point.
