    Snow in the San Juans?????

I think I know what the answer to that question is, but I thought I'd check anyway.

Any recent observations from the Red Mtn, Molas Pass, Silverton, etc areas?

It looks like there hasn't been any precip in at least a week and there is nothing in the forecast. But I might head up next weekend(11/3) and poke around.

Telluride got 18", then 10" from the 2 significant storms.

They have mainly been from the NW, so Telluride has done better than interior/southern San Juans. Above 11k was OK a week ago. It's been sunny since then with lots of consolidation -- not a good. thing.

    Thanks

That's what I expected, though now it looks like there might be some activity headed in this week. We'll see........

Was up on Molas Pass today. Light dusting last night but mostly dirt everywhere. Peaks are largely bare. The forecast has real snow for next week. Hope so. Got a lot colder today. Keepin' the faith.

Snowing today. I'm headed back over coalbank and molas this evening. I'll report what I see. Keep in mind that most of the area was bare before this storm, however there was thin covering with deeper pockets of depth hoar on N-NE aspects.

It snowed 11" (mid-mountain) last night and then dumped hard most of today. I bet we got two feet!

I was right. We ended up with a 24" storm total. They opened all new terrain in the lifts #5 and #6. If you were there when it opened today at 10:30, you got to ski the steeps of lift #6 before the annoying monster moguls form! MMmmm sweet powder!... what can't it do?
