Potential Callout
I wasn't sure whether to post this in the padded room or in here, but it landed here.
so here's the story:
I purchased a pair of skis on here about a month ago from a (for now) unnamed person. anyway promptly sent the check, and it was deposited on September 20. Coincidentally this day was the seller's last activity on here. I have sent multiple PM's and sent emails to the seller without any response. i'm not necessarily expecting skis to be shipped immediately, but i am expecting some form of communication saying that a) he got my check and b) he will ship them within a certain time frame.
i have his name and address, but couldn't come up with anything on whitepages. what do i do? wait a little longer before calling him out? call him out now?
thanks.

Sounds a bit suspect to me - I'd at least post the name as it will get the ball rolling to figure things out - these call outs usually just end up in some miscommunication but usually gets things solved

If you have his address, maybe a local mag will volunteer to egg his house.
I see Blue; He looks glorious.

Maybe he was hit by a meteor?
I am always willing to give advice to complete strangers when I only have half the story! To me, you deposit the check the same day you ship. I think you should have your skis already.

Tell me his name and I guaranty that if he lives in Minturn, I will know who it is.
I do remember flaming someone with that user name, and if he said he lived in Minturn, I would have remembered it.
I'd be glad to help if he really is a local. I don't know of anyone who skis those boards in town (except I believe Telemike just picked up a pair), and trust me, I would recognize them.Is it radix panax notoginseng? - splat

My bad. I just did a little research and nowhere does it specify that he lives in Minturn.
It was telemike, who wanted to buy the King Salmons, that lives in Minturn.
Well, at any rate givebackbloom has his info, right?

If you sent him a check via US Mail and he rips you off, contact the Postmaster General explain the "Mail Fraud" situation you are in and they will be all over him like a cheap suit.

Sorry, man. That sucks. Hopefully he will turn up as will the AKs. I've seen some of these things work out even after long periods of time.
Do you have any protection from your bank in these cases? May be worth a call to see if they can retrieve the funds from the account the funds were deposited into. Although, I did get ripped off by an internet company through PayPal recently and my bank told me that because it was done as an authorized debit through PayPal there was nothing the bank could do - checks may behave the same way. PayPal is working on retrieval in my case, but skeptical to say the least. Almost 2 months and counting....Uno mas
