Since I just got my turntable up and running, I had to say that I wholeheartedly agree. I'm close to being blown away by the feeling it gives me to put on a record to play these days.

For my birthday I bought some albums. I think I did pretty good. The black sabbath is a 1970 vertigo original pressing in great condition. per the seller they were found in a box in her parents cellar.

I still have mine, although admittedly was buying way more cassettes than records in high school and college because car stereo utility. Still got some cool ones I'm glad I still have., several were gifts from my older sister.

My 15 year old daughter came home from the mall with an album last weekend and she doesn't even have a turntable. I've got 2 but one is mostly a parts donor at this point.

I plan to get the girl a turntable for her upcoming birthday.

I have an entire room at my house dedicated to the vinyls (both albums and action figures), because, well, I'm a nerd.
Mostly classic and prog rock, but a TON of rap from the '80s and '90s (I was a DJ in college). Quite a bit of the rap I own is out-of-print, too/the CDs go for in excess of $100 on Amazon, fwiw.

Classics off the top of my head:
Complete Peter Gabriel collection on both the British Charisma label and the American Geffen label (i.e. 2 copies of each album); De La Soul's Clear Lake Auditorium on aquamarine vinyl; The Verve's A Storm In Heaven; a complete set of the 1990 era re-issues of Parliament/Funkadelic; way too much other stuff to rattle off.

Only thing is: I don't currently have a working turntable!
