I'm not sure I'd go that far but when it's 100 degrees and all the trails are completely blown out, moto is a whole lot more fun than pedaling.

Thx for the beta, did Keg to Taylor last summer (sweet views...) and want to camp out by Coal for a few days to see how those segments ride -- though (chain saw fatbiker man) has made similar suggestions to yours...

Reach out to me with your dates (via email)

while I'm not likely in shape for Keg to Aldous (hardly any saddle time this summer, boo!) I'm in IP most weeks.

I could be persuaded to drop y'all off at top of Keg Springs TH and eliminate your 2nd trip back up to get the car...

Jealous of your riding season, but I've been in the weeds with houseguests and cabin rehab and getting anxious about winter.

I think they are Aspen Sunflower....

There are some Coneflower in there too, but those are mostly pedaless and the purple is Mountain Aster.

My wife planned an outing for the weekend: starting with a road trip and a little camping. So I went forth and scouted a spot by a little river

Short drive this morning brought us to a hill with some lifts and bike demos and such things as a Rendezvous might offer. The grass seems a little manicured, but if all dirt sidewalks were shaped like this, there would be at least slightly less complaining about dirt sidewalks:

Friend and I rode the warm springs area down at lost trail yesterday, but without shuttling to the top first. There's a whole thing, the lost trail bike fest, where they run shuttles all day. It was last weekend.

Trying to ride up warm springs creek when it's 90f is really hard. The 2nd section to the overwhich falls trail is mostly hike a bike, and kind of blew us both up for the rest of the ride. I was generally struggling and not riding very well. Going up the overwhich trail and colter creek was fine though.

Neither of us took many pictures

The top of the warm springs creek trail, getting here was the worst part.

The "bottom" of the overwhich falls trail. Usually you'd be pushing up this but we were going the other way. Loose with big rocks

    we came from down there

warm springs ridge. Much easier riding, and we got to the top of fire creek in about an hour

The ridge trail keeps going and winds up right at highway 93, but we were parked a couple miles up at the end of the road. Starting out we weren't sure on our plan, but by then taking the shortest route down fire creek, which put us basically at the car, seemed like the best idea.

I"m pretty beat up today. Had a few crashes, First one in a creek crossing early on ripped my elbow open pretty good. Then both of us went down at the same spot up on the ridge, which put a nice rotor burn on the back of my arm. My whole left side hurts, I generally feel like shit, my saddle somehow broke, and my front brake was acting finicky. Lately it's started sticking when the temps are about 85f or so, I think I possibly need to rebuild the lever.

5:30 total, 3 hours to go the first 14mi up to the back of lost trail ski hill and the start of warm springs ridge, and both of us are in pretty decent shape.

This is some BDSM shit. Seems like it would have been about 5x easier to go up Porcupine Creek rather than ride Overwhich backwards. Plus then you would have missed Heartbreak Hill on the ridge.
