Nice pics. Took the kid I volunteer with on his first mountain bike ride this morning, and he had a blast.

Some of my backyard trails got torched. Lucky the neighborhood was spared, but we were all packed up to evacuate. It turns out the things we pack in that situation are mostly bikes.Click image for larger version.

Took a sudden jaunt into the desert to try to remember how to wake up before the sun. Seems effective, although the pics never do the colors any justice. Drove Satan's Washboard to get to these rocks. It was worth it.

But this place was completely empty, so we skipped Satan's Washboard and went back two days in a row:

Apologies for the quality. Stuff like this almost has me convinced to buy a decent camera.

We tried to exorcise the memories of mud on this trail from a few years back--now we appreciate the abilities of its dust. But I don't prefer the mud.

Little brown bear up the Rattlesnake in Missoula. I think this might be a yearling from the cubs I saw last summer.

The bridge photo is 8miles up the main corridor. Always worth a 10min stop to listen to the sounds there.

Heat wave continues, so I did a sub-24 hr trip to the local mountains this weekend. Sunset ride, camp, sunrise ride, home. Always a great way to avoid the crowds too.

Finding new trails is always a blast. I rode a few trails yesterday that I’ve not been on in a year and rode a trail ive never done the full length on before. That middle section that was new to me was one of the fastest smoothest downhills around here. Now I know where to go when I want some speed.
