Ignorance is bliss. Well set up cantis were fine. I’m not really a fan of purpose built bike trails. I’ve always liked riding narrow hiking trails and that’s all that was available back then. It was more like the gravel riding is today but with more single track and hike a bike. To each his own.

Looks like an Amp B2. Probably from ~'93. If it's in good shape and still mostly stock, I bet it'd go for a couple grand.

    Edit: correction - it's a Mongoose Amplifier, which is a re-badged Amp B2

Those trails still exist, and you can still ride bikes on them in a lot of places. No reason we can't have and enjoy a healthy mix from HAB sufferfests to fast, jumpy stuff. Shitty flow trail (not to be confused with well-built, fast and jumpy trail that actually has flow) being the glaring exception. That shit is almost as bad as canti brakes.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

I haven't personally ridden any of it yet, but from what I've been hearing it sounds like SLC is putting on a clinic in the foothills.

Correct. I may throw it up on EBay with a stupid Buy-it-now number just for kicks. Maybe my Ibis Szazbo too.

Agree to disagree on the Canti's!! Do agree about narrow trails, that's probably what most of us East Coasters ride, though now tend to do better job of using the terrain contours better and consider water-flow vs pure old school hiking trails. Some of our best trails these days are new, but built by guys who've been building for 25yrs in some cases (Older Pinkbike article from Mt Penn mostly, where Neko Mullaley grew up riding) so have a great combo of narrow singletrack w/ flow hidden amongst the rocks/roots. Though we still ride trails that were built way before mountain bikes as well, most of those don't have much traffic.

And for point of thread... left is proper line, right is not. No longer a narrow trail with the ride around

Riding local mountains today with 406. We were both good and whooped by the end.

Hadn't seen any rattlesnakes yet this year. Saw 3 of them today including this southwestern speckled rattlesnake, the most rare rattler in SD County

Recent riding trip to the dry land. Loving the empty trails right now.

Nice ride this morning. Hope you like yellow. It was basically like this the entire ride. A little distracting at times

Another blow out of a page here yet again. Wow.

Had my first ride of the season today. What a blast. Was so hyped. Didn't get to ride much last summer due to a variety of reasons, and had like six total excursions on the fatbike over winter.

Many pointless wheelies popped, irresponsible speeds achieved, and blind corners railed. Hadn't ridden like that in some time. We won't talk about my weak legs on even the slightest incline..

Usually I’m on a Mtb this time of year, but I picked up a road bike and have been dabbling in the world of paved trails and spandex . Lots of great rides right from my house. Actually really been enjoying it. Still trying to get on some dirt on the weekends though. Click image for larger version.
