    Yup. Definitely helps.

    Aye.

Quick zip up to that big ol wood, then a hasty dip in the creek before hustlin to a friend's wedding on the north side of the lake.

That pondo is pretty unmistakable. One of the biggest that I’ve seen. There’s a great loop out the back of Kahler Glen on old logging roads up to the first saddle on Nason Ridge.

I was curious how you could recognize a trail by a single tree. I rode Nason end to end last summer but don't recall the tree. It was dark on the final 8 mile descent so that's probably where it was. Cool trail!

Go forth and ride, then bring back pics

Yeah, it’s below the last intersection. If it had been light you’d recognize it. Everyone knows that tree.

If you took the fall line towards the lake from that tree you would be pretty close to our cabin

Standard New England trail picture… but found a huge infestation of Wooly Aphids for about 1/4 mile.

Rode Smith Creek down which was a new addition onto the route for me. 1/3 loose controlled slide pumice coasting, 1/3 natural loamy pump track and 1/3 slog back to the car. I'd say it's mostly worth it to turn this into a loop rather than an out and back.
We did Ape, plains of Abraham a few days later and got some Ste Hélène views. Trails are in good shape

Was too good to stop in the woods, gravel climb to ripping descent on the right at top of this little climb.

    Looked something like this
