Love that area! Glad you're able to take advantage. We're quickly having everything closed on us in SoCal. What's the atmosphere like over there for trail / camping access right now?

Right now in Phoenix everything seems to still be open. Businesses are a little hit or miss, but we've not really been trying to go into town unless necessary.

Camping and trails are open around here but we changed plans to go to Sedona tomorrow instead of Prescott due to trail conditions. Sedona campgrounds are all closed but trails are open. RV parks are open, but we are going to try to hit some state land and stay a little further off the grid instead.

No epic riding photos from a spin with the dog today, but the wet grass was sure slippery and I bent my saddle into a funny shape after a little spill.

So you got your wheel fixed, Seth? Do tell.

We had plans to hit St George, then Sedona and east side of Phoenix right about now, but canceled with the covid blues. I am jealous a bit and glad someone is getting some riding in. But I've been riding the fat bike with the dog around Teton Valley- Click image for larger version.

All parks and trails that are City of San Diego property are closed. Other cities like Chula Vista and some land managers have followed. Unfortunately as each place gets shut down it pushes people to the next open spot and we'll probably see more closures. Hoping it doesn't get out to the desert or national forest but Mt Laguna Rec area is going to get crushed on weekends once it warms up to the high 60s/low 70s.

Iron Mtn was listed as open yesterday so I went, figuring it will close soon. Getting back to the TH there was - guess what - a trail closed sign!

@homemadesalsa I ran into an issue with the wheel on Sunday night and submitted a warranty claim on Remolds/Hayes website on Monday afternoon. I was warned by many shops (I was also calling arrive looking for wheels) that warranty fulfillment would be slow right now due to the Covid.

The only shop in Phoenix that had a wheelset was Rage cycles and they had a new set of Reynolds TR309 S wheels (same as the wheel that broke).

Tuesday morning I had a response from Reynolds telling me that I could either find a local shop with a Reynolds wheelset in the area or send my wheel in for repair. I called Rage and they were keen on helping out. They called Reynolds and I picked up the new rear wheel Tuesday afternoon. I was riding again that evening. Super impressed with both Reynolds and Rage.

I also called shops in Prescott and Sedona (including Edge of the World) and found wheelsets in both. Those were my backup plans if Reynolds didn't work out.

Got two rides this morning (w/ and w/o the kids) in Phoenix and a short ride on the Bell Canyon trail in Sedona after we arrived. I feel really blessed to have been on this trip and to have the wheel work out the way it did.

Sedona has been awesome. Got to ride some really fun trails with and without the kids. We are here for one more day then beginning the trip home. We have to stop in S Utah first. We got St George on the way through. Is Gooseberry worth stopping at?

Re: gooseberry...do your kids love hard, ledgy, technical chunk?
(There are easier sections than others, but in general)
Evaluate honestly. If not, skip it, lots of other great trails without driving up to the Butte.

First ride with a new toy today - very stoked. Needs some new rubber and a few cockpit tweaks and she'll be all set!

Wire Mesa is another option up on the mesa. It's pretty chill, not a ton of climbing and some really good views.

Full lock down here in the UK. Biking still allowed but only from the house, we're lucky to have a good amount of mellow dirt right out of the back door. Lots of lumber around to play around with in the park behind the house too. Of course this shit all happens when it finally stops raining and the dirt is prime... Click image for larger version.

Go forth and ride, then bring back pics

Y’all have a lot more interesting riding options from your houses than I do. Beautiful shots
