Went to see a friend in great falls this weekend, brought mtb with plans to ride there and possibly in helena and/or copper city today. Rained all day today so I didn't try to stop on my way back but I did get out for a couple hours yesterday afternoon. Lots of water coming out of the dams

What would be really nice is if you could ride across one of the dams as there are trails on both sides. The north side trails go farther east while the south river trails are more developed. There's some pretty good stuff in there along the river that is sometimes pretty exposed.

I rode down into that but then wound up walking up as it was steep and off camber with a step up and no room for error on the left side.

Turned around just past the ryan dam which is to my left here

There is a loop out there but the last time I rode it I found myself doing a lot of bushwacking and walking sketchy features with a big drop off to one side.

Cool pics jamal. Lots of water. Amazing the amount of rain we've had around here the past few days, it's good you were able to ride at all. They recorded 5.36 inches up at Benchmark by Gibson Reservoir since Friday, that's nuts. Shit is flooding again in Helena.

Yeah I was not expecting much but the trails out there were in good shape. Thought I'd find mud and need to turn around and just ride the paths for a spin. It was a pretty unhealthy weekend for me and I have 4 races in the next two weeks so I just needed to get out for something, turned into 2ish hours and 25mi and capped off a decent week of riding.

Love seeing all the kid stoke! We don't have kids of our own, but gobs of nieces and nephews. Vicarious living or what have you. That truly is "growing the sport" and is most excellent to see!

Outstanding shots, all. Thanks for sharing

Goddamn, all my riding so far this year has been urban. More miles than ever, mostly commuting with mixed road and trail, but with some very fun kid trailer/MTB neighborhood cruises to the parks. Been so fun to have a small passenger in the mix.... gotta get more shots of her participation. Anyway,
