Went exploring with the dag. Shoulda brought the battery powered sawzall(realized I actually had it in truck...). Only made it a couple miles and maybe 50 trees before heading back. Did see some moose and deer. Never did find the connector to the ridge trail I was hoping for. Oh well another excuse to find it. Might have to hit Missoula or helena soon.

Another great evening ride. We had a big storm a week or two ago and there are downed trees everywhere. Should have taken a picture of about 20 huge trees down but... Didn't.

My son made it into a Pinkbike Friday Fails compilation. 1:57 right after the dude slow-mo faceplants into the puddle. That'll teach him to know his line, he had already hit it 3-4 times (he was fine).

I was flipping through the pics and saw that and thought it looked nice. Time to take the drive up the mountain to give it a try. So hard to get myself to pack shit in the truck instead of rolling out of the garage. But that looks plenty nice.
Is it all as flowy as that looks?

It's not all flow, there are some tech sections. Nothing too steep but they are fun. Big rock garden at the end that I admittedly walked the first time. It's like they took some easier sections of Braille and mashed them together with some more natural sections of flow. It has a familiar feel to those two but is definitely different. Worth riding at least once for sure and I will definitely be back.
As far as demo is concerned its been kinda a shitshow recently. Don't even think of showing up between the hours of 7-11am on a weekend its a madhouse. I've had good luck pedaling super early (arriving at 6am) or showing up after the crowd leaves (1:30 yesterday was perfect). There's construction during the week leading to full closure of highland way from 10-12 and 1-3 (more info on SC Public works website) so its a mess then too. Just yesterday I saw a group going down Braille with no helmets, a family walking out with someone's arm in a makeshift sling, and reports of calfire having to do an evac in the evening. Trails are great if you avoid the people though.
