When you say Disneyland, do you actually mean you rode the actual Disneyland trail (as in a heli drop)?
Or did you ride in the Squamish and you are referring to the wonderful kingdom that is Squamish?

Cold and rainy the past 2 weeks, now time for a few days of perfect fall sun and tacky dirt.

Very welcome! The majority of the single trails are officially off limits; all those I posted here are legal though (mostly in connection to a ski area trying to add to its summer offering).

More riding in Sospel. One of the coolest things about the area is how dramatically different the terrain is within a small area.

I don't think I've ever enjoyed Autumn as much as this year! I normally spend it waiting for winter to start, but now with the bike I wouldn't mind if it never ends...

Had an absolute blast last weekend on the Wurzeralm Singletrail, near my gf's hometown in Oberösterreich (Upper Austria, between Salzburg and Vienna), in absolutely stunning Autumn colours and light. YouTube's compression hasn't been kind to the video quality, but you get the idea...

I wasn't as close to the hiker as it looks, but still closer than I would have liked. In my defence 1. it's a bike-only trail 2. the gravel is very loose there so it's hard to brake hard (or take another line) without loosing control, and I thought a loud skid behind him would have been even more discourteous... And I'd already spoken to the guy I rode past pumping his tyres; he didn't need help

This is one of the (very) few legal MTB trails in the area, and you aren't even allowed to pedal up the start... So a lift ticket and multiple laps is the only option

Lots of fun though! There are a few fairly tricky sections in the forest (more so than the video shows, and it took me a couple of laps to work out the lines to ride them all; I'd hoped to clean the last section I hadn't managed on this lap, but someone was in the way walking it already and I needed some momentum so it'll have to wait for next time) and there are some parts with quite loose gravel/rubble which you have to watch out for.

The day ticket is also valid at the tiny but deceptively cool Wurbauer Bikepark, a 5 minute pedal from my gf's parents place in Windischgarsten, so I did a few late afternoon laps up there too:

The following day I went over to Schladming to try the bike park there on their closing day. Weather wasn't quite so nice, and despite weeks of dry weather it was an absolute mud-fest! Still nice views though:

TBH I prefer Saalbach and Sölden to Schladming, but I can imagine that a better rider might prefer Schladming. The blue flow trail there is probably the best shaped that I've ridden so far, like a huge pump track winding through the woods and shaped so perfectly that it's easy to keep the speed up and really flow through all the corners and jumps. Everything else seems quite a big jump up though, both v steep and quite aggressively shaped, if that makes sense - to make the trails work properly you have to carry a lot more speed than I was comfortable with into some pretty rowdy sections and very steep 'fall-line straights' into big bermed corners which are awkward if you're not going fast and scary if you are going fast enough

Could've used some goggles rather than glasses as the mud got EVERYWHERE; swallowed, inhaled, and in the eyes...

Did manage to grow my own shin guards though

Got a tip from a friend last week and went on a solo mission yesterday to check it out. Pretty special...

The ascent was only around 1100m so nothing crazy, but took a fair bit of work to grind up the very steep and soft (gravel) forstweg. Then around 100m vert pushing up a hiking trail to the top. Was definitely wishing I'd had breakfast or lunch (or an bike ) by this point

The views were worth it though

Soon be time for skitouring in the Kalkkögel again...

The city basking in the late afternoon sun

Aaaand then 1000m+ natural single track all the way down

(Though I did have to walk a couple of bits; with more time/energy/food I think I could ride most of them next time though)

The lower half through the forest was amazing too; the first time I've ridden proper loam, and damn does it feel good!

Not a single hiker around either

    Last month in Oregon.
Circumnavigated Crater Lake. Had to do it after doing that trip on skis back in 2012.
