As DTM mentioned...
I had a great ride... until I didn't.
That's the worst crash I've taken on a bike yet. Clipped left bar on tree- head directly into other tree, other body parts smashed. I honestly don't know how I walked out from the trail. Thank you to the kind man that led me out since I was so disoriented, but walking. I got lucky and I'm thankful that helmets save lives and that I escaped with zero broken bones, only cuts and big bruises. It.was.scary.
you sketchy character, you

Dam! From the looks of that helmet it could've been much worse. The latest helmets have some added tech for protection.

I dig that last one!
One from Buffalo Creek today. I think the sandy areas are growing exponentially this summer.

Not sure where else to put this. Picked up a CX bike last night in Seattle and rode it onto the ferry home. Nice evening for a spin on a new steed.

Nice time for a nice ride that fished with snow falling. Tackiest trails I've ridden in months.

Crested Butte is going off. Should be good for another week or more, assuming there's not much snow in the next two days.

I've been putting a lot of miles on this rig lately. It's just so easy to ride from home and it's a blast on most of the dirt close by too.

Did a fun loop yesterday with a friend. Started with a mellow road ride (~37 mi) around the valley with a quick stop in Lakeside, MT meeting our families for lunch at the Tamarack grill. Then switched to our mountain bikes for a long slog up Blacktail mountain (~14 mi and 3700 ft) before returning to our starting point on the Blacktail to Foys trail (~21 mi). 72 mi in all with about 6k of climbing. Not much for a lot of guys on here but enough to leave me tired today.
Its a ride over been wanting to do for a while and I loved everything except climbing Blacktail, but even that wasn't horrible.
I'll try to add some more pics as I get then from my friend.

Sweet loop! I recently heard about the ride up blacktail via a flyer for a hill climb event, which I wound up not going to due to smoke and generally poor fitness. If you were doing it all on one bike would you take a mtb or would a cx bike be okay on the way down?
I drank a lot of beer yesterday then sat around most of today watching bike races and figured I should go outside. Went on my usual short ride to the snowbowl overlook this afternoon. Pretty crowded up there

Always a riot showing friends this alpine treasure and watching their disbelief
The lake high above the lodge is stocked with beer by donation
