By far my favorite TGR thread. Big day in the Bigholes. Finally getting my power back after knee replacement in April. No clouds, no phones, no people, no debate. Perfect.

I don't look at this thread enough.

I will say I find roots annoying as hell. They are non-technical, therefore not difficult, and just chattering shit. Granted, the new bikes suck them up much better than the old and maybe I'm skewed since so many of our old trails are just roots. Tiresome.

Last weekend I found some new to me trails not on any maps up in the Whites. This was a fun little trail thru the pines along a stream.

Showed a buddy the lines in the technical parts on one of the local trails that he hadn't cleaned yet. He got it down smooth after that, so I guess it wasn't terrible advice.

Rode Teo yesterday, but not the rest of that, beer at the car was still good. No pics for the TGRz though. Super fun DH, not so fun UH, I'd put it on par w/ Doc's park, both have their plusses and minuses. Very similar rides. Doc's is just longer. Teo is nice because of the lack of shuttling, although you could, we didn't.

A sort of pumpy traverse, followed by a bunch of tight steep hairpins. The one in the photo usually doesn't have a ton of exit speed (unless it's winter) because the face and berm are so loose. You're on your brakes to not go over the edge, then the loose slough that collects on the berm just soaks up your speed.

A friend showed me around some unsanctioned goodies close to home today... steep, rooty, rocky with a little fun schwacking to finish it off. Somebody buy those trail builders a beer!
