Now that ^^^ looks like good riding. Not into the UV oven stuff, though the views are nice.

A little road ride up MT Evans today to 14,130 feet. They close the road on Tuesday for winter, the weather was threaten this afternoon, but I kept pushing to the summit. I was a great ride from Eco Lake.

Good riding so far this week. I switched up our usual "wednesday worlds" road ride last night and we went and did some dirt. Good times were had by all, except for the guy who didn't get the memo, brought his road bike, and flatted immediately.

Tonight was the mtb ride, we went out to an area I haven't really ridden that much, found some fun trail way out where you wouldn't expect anything, looks like it gets some moto and atv traffic and that is probably where it came from. Kind of thought we were going to spend the whole ride on logging roads. Did get a puncture on my pre-ride to the meetup spot which was annoying, now I'm going to have to try to get that patched up because it's pretty new and expensive tire.

    Smoke wasn't too bad

Trail down was faint in some places, in others it was chewed up atv doubletrack:

We descended that ridge in the foreground:

    That is a good ride.

When I first moved to Aspen, my friend Tim got into racing and told me he was going to win the Hill Climb. Yeah, right.
Well he ended up winning within a couple of years and went on to ride the TDF with Schwinn-Wheaties for several years.
I lost track of him and hadn't seen him in years and I ran into him skiing a couple of years ago. I was stoked, because I ride more than ever and asked about riding.
"You know, I haven't ridden a bike in seven years. It became a job."

That was a good lesson for me and I'm so glad that I haven't lost the passion.

Gorgeous day for a 2.5 hour daddy/daughter ride. Quiet narrow paved roads, gravel, and mountain climbs.

Today I rode at the dirt jumps and an elevenish year old kid came up to my friend and I and said, "so are you guys, like in high school?"

Something to look forward to (more weight in the trailer, not on me) as the years tick by. The .7 12-15% grade up the local bump and the 5 miles mostly up hill to get to the base from the driveway never disappoints even without her in tow. Daddy daycare roolz.
