Rode lifts today. Left the dirt bike in the garage because I hate the environment.

Thanks buttah. Not so good at speed though cos I don't see stuff at high speed. Like trees

No wonder you like slow jank! Hah, wow, never picked up on that before. That's crazy. When I close one eye driving it creeps me right out and I can't imagine riding like that.

It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

Went down to lolo and rode through last year's fire. Trails were just reopened last weekend

You can shuttle up the mormon peak road, which is 8 miles and 2500 vertical feet, but it probably takes as long as just riding. From the trailhead it's less than a mile and about 700ft to the junction of the lolo peak/carlton ridge trail and the mill creek trail, which descends back to the highway. We decided to go up to carlton ridge

Lolo peak on the right. Well, sort of. The highest part is behind it.

Then it's a long way back down

Carlton ridge trail was actually better than Mill creek, right now anyway. The Mill creek trail was practically not there in places and still needs a little work, or more tires on it.

^^^ Just missed you. We rode Tahepia Lake (RWA) on Sunday. We looked hard and there were no signs forbidding Mountain Bikes.

I can't believe that this was from 9 years ago, right about now.

And today did Warm Springs Ridge out of Lost Trail. Spent last night in Wisdom, that place rocks.... Just kidding.

Planning another Beaverhead Epic next week (Sunday) if you and the Mayor are down for it. South and west of Jackson MT.

    Yonkee to Goldstone(sp?)

    You ears burning yesterday?

We were talking about ya. Seem the USFS finally got off their collective asses and has now created a trail/route that is official on Line Creek Plateau. Might give it a spin in 2 weeks.

Got your text. Doubtful to make that particular ride next weekend. Wilbur is frantically collecting pictures and GPS tracks for the new edition of his SW MT Mtn Biking book. Gots to ride the ones he needs to update.

Had to pick some things up from my folks place in the Arkansas Valley so managed to sneak in a couple rides in between house work.

The local trails in Salida are pretty great. Sand Dunes is about as much fun as you can pack into 1.5mi of trail. It's got tech, it's got flow, it's got a natural wall ride, and there's even a sketchy sand dune to keep you honest.

The next morning did a loop above St. Elmo. I wish there had been a bit more singletrack and a bit less road, but the scenery is amazing, the singletrack portions exquisite, and low traffic even on a holiday weekend.

Still no GG bike? I'm so disappointed. You clearly can't have fun on those little tires

Blue elderberries, quite tasty when fully ripe. Foraging opportunities around here are pretty good. Wild raspberries and thimbleberries in early summer, which give way to serviceberries and gooseberries mid-summer, and elderberries late summer into early fall. I like them all, but the thimbleberries are far and away my favorite.

I don’t recommend Wydaho at all, costs me a fortune every time I’ve gone...cause I had to buy another bike. Agreed, super fun event in a great community!
