^^That looks awesome. Did you have to go with the overhead brown pow?

    This started in fun

I think that was about 20 yards from where the tears showed up when she crashed on the return leg at a really straight, almost flat spot. No idea what caused it, but the rock she landed on seemed to hit her whole side: knee, elbow, rib and hip. It took about 40 minutes to get her to a road and another 20 for me to bring the car. Intercepted two awesome ladies out for a hike who kept an eye on her so I could dial back the freak-out a little. X-rays negative. It must be time to get more protection.

I figured the guys who check this thread would get a kick out of this. My older brother is one of the original modern mountain bikers. That’s him in the first photo second from left. This is one of the earliest sanctioned mountain bike races. They did a hill climb and then a downhill back down the same course. He came in second.

The third picture is from 1979. That bike is a 1978 Koski-Knight frame one of the earliest specific built Mt bike frames. He also has the #10 serial number Richey frame. He could open a museum with his collection.
Pic is from BMX ACTION MAGAZINE.

Also if you are really into Mt bike history look up the race organizer and his good friend Victor Vicente of America, a total legend. The guy on the far right of photo.

Awesome!! Haven’t heard those names in forever. Koski forks were a staple for a lot of years. Even well into the 90’s

^^Great pics as always in perhaps the best thread on TGR.

A few from the Continental Divide trail this afternoon. The best hot-day ride near Helena according to my friend--it was 90s today in town. The ride starts with 3.2 miles along the Continental Divide trail from Macdonald Pass (rocky bitch, I probably hiked half of it), 3.4 mile 2000 ft. descent on the Switchback Ridge trail to Tenmile Creek, then a few easy miles cruising out newly paved Rimini Road to highway 12. Then beers at the Blackfoot downtown of course.

I went all old man on some teenagers yesterday. On a brand new trail, which is directional, and they are going the wrong way. I nicely explain it to them and move on. My wife is running the trail about 500yds behind me so I reach the next fork and wait for her. I ask if she saw the kids and said they almost ran her over coming around a corner. This really pissed me off because there are a lot of young kids in this trail so I head on the trail to catch them in the act and almost run into them. Laid into them pretty good and made them turn around the right way and followed them to the end of the trail where I again explained why they need to go the right way.

Man it pissed me off and hoping they learned something about a busy trail.

Cool temps, partly cloudy, shady trails, and a lake. Not quite a powder day, but still worth skipping out on work. Click image for larger version.
