I prefer hand built shitty hiking trails, but there is something that is really fun about carving a climbing turn with a mini ex in really good dirt!

Not an amazing pic, but this is now my favorite (semi-local) road climb.
Grade never exceeds 6%, super wide shoulders with great pavement, and nearly no traffic.
    Amazing fall ride.

One pic from each ride last weekend

Tahoe, climbing up to Monument pass. Got my ass kicked by elevation on that ride

Clear Creek trail from Spooner down to Jacks Valley Rd was just completed. Pedally descent but nice xc ride

Grouse Ridge gnar. Might be my new favorite riding area

    Downieville classic lap

Checked out the completed singletrack off Mills Peak

Climbed up to Sierra Buttes lookout and then took legal PCT over to Jamison Cr to Graegle.

When I was in JH a week or so ago, we rode to Jenny Lake and back, and my friends keep saying we have to do Togwotee. It's on the list.

    Oh, and well done evdog.

    .
What I would suggest (and this is how I will do it next time) is to park at Signal Mountain Lodge, ride from there, and eat there when you are done. Should be about 60 miles with 3.5K of climbing.
OR park at the hatchet Resort, and ride to DuBois, get lunch, and ride back. Probably ~70 miles with 5k or so of climbing.
Get the Fried Brussel Sprouts and the Nachos @ SML...they are absurd.

Day 1: Monument Pass, 2nd lap Spooner->Clear Creek (big day)
    Day 2: Grouse Ridge
Day 3: D-ville XC lap + Mills + SB tower to Graegle (shuttles?) (reel big'un!)
    sproing!

Yes, perfect. Jenny Lake was a mess with the construction, but so what. Seemed to be only one spigot to fill water bottles, for example. It was fun to dodge grass hoppers.

I keep meaning to check out Grouse Ridge. There are a few loop options - having just done it, is there a particular route you'd recommend?

Thanks! Yeah it is a rad place. Endless chunky backcountry trails. Fun descents and challenging techy climbs with pretty lakes and great views everywhere.

Day 1: Monument Pass, 2nd lap Spooner->Clear Creek (big day). 1st ride I bailed down Armstrong/Corral rather than go further. Still was ~25mi in 6hours. Ride 2 was 15mi in 90min, half in the dark.
    Day 2: Grouse Ridge
Day 3: D-ville XC lap + Mills - both shuttles
Day 4: Sierra Buttes to Graegle. self shuttle

Youtube guy bkxc did this ride, including pedal up the road https://www.trailforks.com/ridelog/view/3364309/ I normally would have done that route self shuttling the road, but am still recovering from knee surgery so didn't want to ride the gnarlier trails. I'll be back to do that route at some point.

Instead I started with their route up going Bowman and then looped Crooked Lakes Trail to Grouse Ridge and back to the start on Lindsay Lake Tr and Bull Pen. That was a pretty good loop that took around 6-7 hours with plenty of breaks.

If you pull up Trailforks there are other suggested routes. This is my only ride here so I can't comment on much personally. But from what I'd seen if you need to do any extended climbs I'd try to do them on roads rather than trails. Seems like any long singletrack climb is going to have a lot of hike a bike.

Group ride was at the ski hill last night. I hurried a little and made it to point 6

Stormy afternoon turned into a pretty nice evening

Good bbq in the parking lot afterward.

Friend took a nasty spill off a wall ride and pulled a number on his ankle. Sorry for the anti stoke but I had to post this when I got the pic:
