Go forth and ride, then bring back pics

One of my buddies just sent me this. Early 90’s on my custom Yo Eddy!
Narrow bars, check. Straight arms, check. Two finger braking, check. Bar ends, check. Tall saddle, check.
Wow things have changed, I’m still a dork, but the bikes, holy shit, night and day.

You should've held onto those chainrings. They became cool again!

Oh yeah, i was in front. Heard a huge crash bang “ahhhh fuck”. Not the place you want to fall... Steep downhill, lotsa rocks and deadfall on either side of the trail. The guy is a master at crashing... always walks away

Been out riding solo a bunch after work last week. Sometimes I got up in time for that glorious evening golden light:

Other times I was a bit too late:

But sometimes it seems like it actually gets easier once you can't see the chunk and have no choice but to let the suspension deal with it :~/

Went for a ride on the other side of the valley again yesterday, to get schooled by a friend who actually knows what he's doing on a bike.

Before getting the Capra I was concerned that it might be too much bike for all the climbing that I knew I would be doing, but turns out that's not a problem at all. It won't climb fast, so if that's a priority then look elsewhere, but as long as you don't care about speed it goes up as steep and as long as you want. This ride topped out with ~750m vert climbed in one push from the city, which is obviously by no means a huge climb, but 1500m+ days shouldn't be a problem when the snow allows.

Max crossing one of the big Nordkette avalanche paths:

And schooling me on what technical single track means (tbh I was too 'absorbed' on the more interesting bits to get the phone out):

Still absolutely LOVING this biking stuff!

Second ride with my new dog. Dude is seriously fast, but still has some work to do on trail manners. Woofed at the only two people we saw and I had to be that dog owner who's like "don't worry he's friendly".

Been doing lots of riding but not much posting.

Went out for a ride a couple days ago and ended up building a new rock feature. The top of this hill has some cool rock slabs and there were already a couple alternate lines.

    Original climbing line

    Alt descending line

New roll built a couple months ago

Line we built is a steep boulder roll into 90* turn with another roll right after. Exits into the alternate line in second pic. Sketchy at first, but easy after a couple go's.

    Success

Connecting with the original line up top
