Did an endurance race Saturday called the Wrightwood 50. My last ride >50miles was the day before I tore my acl back in March so I wasn't sure how this would go. Turned out well and despite some knee pain through most of the ride I knocked 15min off my time from last year. Was hoping to break the 10 hr mark but finished just a minute or two over. Looks like I'm gonna have to shotgun beers next year to get over that hump
Slept in a bit yesterday then rode Strawberry Peak on the west side of San Gabriels above Pasadena.
Always going the wrong way...

There will be tons of new stuff for you to ride then! Every year they are building so much more. Always fun to check out a couple new things on top of all the favorites.

Spur of the moment vacation to southern Oregon. Surprised at the quality of these trails. The pavement doesn't suck either.

Is that Taylor Creek or Grants Pass? Looks a bit mossy to be Klamath Falls/Spence and not granitic or narrow enough to be Ashland.
If the wife can give you 3 hours of coverage, doing a hot lap on the Ashland Mountain Adventures shuttle is highly recommended, see the Oregon thread here:

You're a beast, Seth, for pulling two kids around on that rig. How old is the little one and what kind of seat is that?
I had both of mine in the trailer behind a Pugsley today, but I think the oldest could probably handle the trail-a-bike now.

[QUOTE=dfinn;5478297]Bellingham has been delivering
Damn right it has. And this weekend is going to be firing after some much needed rain to refresh the loamers.
Went for a more backcountry-esque ride last weekend to mix it up and caught some ideal weather and big views. For a trail that frankly doesnt get much use and is closed for snow much of the year it seems odd how much money was thrown at the project by the local trail organization, but i bet i don't know the whole story. It sure looks like a lot of money and time was put into the work and it sure is a fun, fast descent, and a pretty tolerable climb up.

How was flow riding? Enough fall moisture or pretty dry and dusty? Thinking of heading down that way next week for another couple laps.
I ski 135 degree chutes switch to the road.

Those are the Whiskey Run trails near Coos Bay. I took the kids out for a second ride on. . . Wednesday(?) then got an hour to ride as much as I could by myself. Some really fun flowy trails, but they have just started building. I got about 60% done in an hour. Good quality, intermiediate (blue) riding, and it will be fun to see the other trails they add.
The setup isn't light. The seat on the front is an iBert that I found on Craigslist in Nashville while on a business trip. I've taken all three kids on some fun single track in that seat. Youngest is 2 and about 30#, Middle is 4 and about 35-40#. All in, I'm well over 100# with the bike, tag-a-long, seat and kids. We don't go very fast, but the weight distribution and traction is really good. Even on steep climbs my legs are really the only limiting factor. I highly recommend the iBert seat for fun on bike paths and single track with kids. They get to be a part of the action up front where they can see and you can talk with them. Good stuff.
