Blew off work early for an evening ride last night, taken with a really sweaty smartphone as I had to hammer most of the ride to get it done before dark. Lots of crowded trailheads on the weekends this year and a bit more difficult personal schedule has made the weekend epics tough to pull off. But every once in a while a good weekday opportunity comes up in the evening and I have to admit - the light is incredible and the hikers are nowhere to be seen.

I love how completely misleading that second spot is. The first time you roll up there you're all "Damn, this section is going to be sweet!" 50 yards later it's barely-there goat path HAB for almost a mile. Still totally worth it, but funny as hell.
Yeah, Woodward. Very few people around generally. The outdoor skateparks are more skate-centric and not as good for bikes as the public parks in Sandy, Draper and West Valley which is a bit of a bummer. But, they're also not overrun with people so...trade-offs. DJs are excellent. He hasn't ridden the lifts yet, but probably will tonight. The word we got from friends when they opened was that all the effort went into the "Black" trail which is actually a XL pro line, and the other two trails had been thrown together in a hurry and kinda sucked.
That was awhile ago, though, and I think they've improved the other two trails. I think they have a pretty serious trail crew. The DJs seem to be perfectly manicured all the time. We got a pretty sweet membership deal when they first opened. If you're paying full boat for a membership or day tickets the price is a bit steep for what's there--unless you have mar123-levels skills and can ride the XL lines. The pro DJ line is...wow.

I hear you, for some reason I had pushed the quality of the "trail" on that ridge out of my mind despite having ran it dozens of times over the year. I rolled up to the spot and I couldn't believe how nice on an alpine singletrack I was on. Then I rounded the corner and the bike went up on my back for a good while.
The descent is rad on that one though! So cool to visit in the summer, I had never done it despite spending at least 20 days in that drainage every winter.
