Dawn patrol before we get a few days soak from tropical storm Elsa.

Heal up Smarty! From your Jul 4th pic, always is a nice road, gravel, and mtb rides through Valley Forge. Used to do that on my lunch rides from the office.

POC crash replacement is only within 2 years of purchase. I checked. Plus, I sent a note to POC customer service NA simply thanking them for building a product that literally saved me from brain damage and they never responded. Kinda lame.

But all that considered, I'm ok-ish.

Hit a pothole at 35-40…definitely road crash.

That's nuts. Musta been one hell of a pothole. How's the bike?
You probably know this, but the ribs will be the worse part. Busted at least one with my crash.

Vibes.. I've done ribs twice, 1 from a mtb crash and 3 from an icy yard spill carrying in a full load of firewood. It just sucks, and you will learn very quickly how to move as little as necessary. Keep the mask on and don't catch a cold, you do NOT want to be coughing unnecessarily!

Srsly tho, the head stuff is scary. Glad you came out reasonably ok, take all the Dr's orders for the concussion srsly. You push it with other injuries and you hurt temporarily. Push it with the brain and...

    just be careful!

Made an escape from Socal a few days ago. Left late at night, too hot to stop and take a nap. High 90s from Yuma to Phx even middle of the night. 80 at Flagstaff for breakfast.

Finally checked out the Abajos for a sunset ride. Tempted to ride another lap in the dark but also wanted to get up early for some Phils

Didn't get up early, but did go to Phils world. Not bad at first but then it got hot, real hot. There's some new stuff since last time I was there.

Headed for the high country above Durango next, spent the day dodging storms

Flying to Denver tomorrow am to bikepack the Colorado trail. Follow along on Trackleaders to see progress. Won't be online til done, guessing 12 days

This 100% checks out. Every cough feels like I’m re-breaking the ribs. And there’s a grrrrrinding, crunchy sound with some movements that makes me want to vomit.

I’ll define be following all Dr’s orders. …unless he/she says: maybe you should consider giving up cycling altogether…. Bc I don’t think I can do that

It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

^^damn. Hang tough msn. Itll get better after few days. Take it ez. Im up to 10 now and even with multiple other breaks, at the same time, it was always the rib discomfort that overshadowed the other injuries.

Alpine climb of the top of the gondi opened 2day. Nice escape from the valley heat. Definitely "feels like 30" ++Click image for larger version.

80 degrees and cloudy, spitting a little rain, but not enough to make the roads wet, perfect, in other words.

Don’t want Homadesalsa thinking we don’t do any sawing out of trails around home
Cleared a seldom visited drainage in the home zone. I was swamp bitch while wifey pulled trigger and threw ribbons. No other pics cause, you guessed it, smokey AF.

Those trails were the first I rode on MTBs way back before Dark Ages - how is the pictured trail (also seen in the background) these days??
