When you hike a heavier ebike, is it still worth having an ebike? Does the ease of climbing makes up for occasional hike?

It depends. It was partially exploratory. I had hik a biked it maybe 6 or 7 years ago and its a super fun dh in a nice spot. Im not sure if it was anymore work with the emtb in this case and when i was climbing its quite a fun challenge. Id like to go back when the traction is really good. Still be some hiking but maybe a few less get offs to hike.
It was a 2nd option to a longer hike a bike that isnt as steep. That one will have a similar amount of hike a bike but 3 x more climbing on the emtb because its a bit less steep on average. Traditionally its known as a hike a bike. In the middle of nowhere with little use because of that. Amazing view and a great dh but i remember a lot of it being borderline hike or ride knowing if i hopped on to ride it wssnt going to last long before i blew only to repeat that over and over. Perfect for the E but its still going to take as much eco and trail as i can use knowing ill need a fair bit of boost. Over 5k of steep climbing and i only have the one 540w battery. Hoping the 1 hour of hiking that ill have to do regardless will be the clincher. We got shut down on this 1st/main plan because the loggers had the road closed. Now i have to wait for it to melt out. Checking on the loggers plans now in case the snow melts soon

Most good ebikes have a walk mode, that gives a slight assist.
I HAB a lot less on my ebike, than my regular bike.
Usually a really steep pitch, with deep snow.
